I love Bed Head "Headrush" spray for extensions. It's like aerosol silicone in a can. You can also get the knock off version for much less. I get it at Sally's Beauty Supply, it's the same design can. It's made by Beyond the Zone and called "Flasher".
All long hair tangles whether it's fake or not. No way around that.
Oh Doc I am so sorry that you got such a bad first impression of this board. What went on here yesterday is not the norm. The admin. has stepped in and taken care of the problem. So hopefully things will resume as normal. This is normally a friendly board. And Im sure that everyone here would love for you to stick around!
doc- i will try the baby oil gel mostly bc i like the smell, but i hate the testure/feel of the citre shine and those types of serums/etc. another cheap alternative found in the ethnice aisle is pink glosser. i used this on my pony tails before i even knew about the 'caucasian' world of fake hair/ hair extensions. (hanging out with my black friends at bss and them encouraging me to wear ponys, etc. the trick is not to put too much on though, bc this stuff is oil. it prolly is similar to the baby oil but in a spray bottle so you don't have to get your hands icky (good for me lol)

the grocery store. got2b is a colorful product line by fatboy. it runs about $6. see, when i was looking at shoine spray, i sprayed one spritz of each to see if it dried oily or dry like hairspray. if it was like hairspray i didn't want it for my synth hair, if it was like hairspray i knew i might want it someday to spray right b4 i go out.
this is an img from cvs but i saw it at stop and shop ( my grocery store )
Honestly, reading through the posts I have been disappointed with all the cattiness that is going on here. I really do hope it clears up. Hair forums are a valuable thing.
That's funny because I have the same thing with human hair. It definitely has to be brushed/detangled three times a day, or it gets out of control. :)
As a frame of reference, I need to brush my own hair at least every two hours to keep it from matting up. So three times a day is nothing when you've got long hair.
Just looking for a few good hair slaves - is that too much to ask?

Hey....Whats Up DOC! Welcome to the board! Geez you dropped it at a bad time with all the DRAMA going on, its really not usually like this! Please stick around !
This may sound lame, but seriously shine stuff is expensive. For synth hair, the best product Ive found that I can slather on with no guilt is baby oil gel. Works wonders and feels just like the citre shine stuff.

All extensions do that, human/synth. If you can't brush it a few times a day at least run your fingers through it to keep from getting that matted mess in the nape. My natural hair is mid-back length and I get those big knots in the back too. Its just a long hair thing.

Mer...when I bought this at walmart it is sold right in with all the natural hair products . Says its to help repair split ends, smoothes and seals the hair cuticle, control flyaways and add shine. That tells me its 'supposed' to be for real hair. Walmart only sells produts for natural hair. But now that Ive tried it I definietly know I wont use it again on my natural hair. But its good to know that it works for synthetic hair! LOL
oh sherrie, you can only use that stuff for the ends of for synth type extensions, this is OILY type stuff. you wanted the alcoholy type hair spray-ey type stuff i think.
like this -
this dries after being sprayed on like hair spray.
i love plastikhaar

oh geez....I just bought some of that the other day and used it on the top of my head (the part with no extensions) thought maybe it would put a little shine in my natural hair. I thought I only misted it on real light but it made my hair so greasy looking it was terrible. I had to pull the top of my hair into a barrette and head out the door to work!
