Hi neosoulsenhora

No, the Micro-Lace video does not show how to make lace fronts…it’s
purely a full head weave technique using netting. I have a link you might
find helpful if you want to try and make your own lace front wig. You will
find links to classes (NY), supplies and how to ventilate (Atelier-Bassi). I
hope this is of some help to you…

http://www.hairboutique.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?
TID=20331&KW=wig+making

As for the Hair To Go fusion video….this is the only one in his hair
extension collection I do NOT recommend ….he is a great weavist but I
was “cringing” watching the fusion video. His technique includes….Using
a hot pot & acrylic fusion sticks, cutting the hair off the weft, using a
cardboard shield, using a small marcel curling iron to purge the bonds
after attachment. He shows the first 5 bonds being done then it jumps to
showing the 2nd row being finished. He shows placement of the first 2
rows and then it jumps to the crown area, where he maybe rolled another
3 –4 strands at the most. So you don’t see more than about 12 bonds
total being done throughout the whole video. It doesn’t show him
cutting/blending the hair afterwards; it just jumps to the after shots. The
video is about 56 mins long. Save your money on this one!! There has to
be a better fusion video out there or take a hands on class…that’s always
the best if you can afford it.

Good Luck!!

p.s-sorry you'll have to cut & paste the link...just make sure you have no
space between the ? and the T....I had to delete that space or it would not
work.

Hi fellow extensionists, I also have Ashante' DVD's I only have the Intra Blend and Dream Hair DVDs. I agree with Save~A~Stray about the Intra Blend techinque I prefer using that techinque. Save~A~Stray I wanted to ask you about the Mico lace dvd. I wanted to know does this DVD teach you how to create Micro lace front wigs ? Also in the fusion dvd does he do a full head of fusion (they have a special going on BOGO)

Hi Jeep girl, I don't know where to see it except her tapes. The base is made by stitching. As I remember you are making the base and sewing the weft at the same time. If I remember it right, it has been awhile. If metal has that tape she could explain better. It did hold very well but I don't think I could do it to myself.

Marie, is there a site anywhere that we couuld see this flat weaving with no braiding technique? I am very interested in trying to learn a DIY method without trying how to make rows. The protac just doesn't seem to be working for me....I think the IC hair polisher and the Proclaim spray I use to make my hair soft is causing the tape to slip and become un-attached way too often.
Thanks,
JeepGirl

Current install-Bohyme Bodywave #30 and #14 in the straight hair/ they didn't have the #14 in bodywave, so I mixed them...works great!

I'd love to take a class from her.  I have two of her tapes, but hands on is always better!  I would love to learn another weave method that will hold in fine hair.

Hey Lisa, I took a class years ago from Lisha Coleman to learn the flat weave that requires no braiding. You are basically making the track by stitching. It did hold well and was essayer on my poor pain riden hands. I saw that she has tapes too. www.lisha.com

Hi Creation,

This was on the website.............

For Coarse, kinky, curly, and wavy textured hair….they recommend you
try the… Micro-Lace, Perfect Hair, Dream Hair, Intra-blend, Intertwist and
fusion.

FOR

Fine and straight textured hair…they recommend you try….Fabulous Hair
Illusions, Glamour Hair, Fusion, Gorgeous Hair

I personally liked the Intra-Blend video technique myself.

I really like all the videos but I think the "Intertwist" weave looked the
hardest to do and was a technique I personally hadn’t seen done before.
It is done with loose extension hair not hair on a weft. The loose hair is
integrated into your existing hair using a twisting technique. It looked
real nice when he was finished but this would need a bit of practice I
think. You may find it a lot easier to do than I did…LOL

Well, pretty much Perfect Hair, The Intra-Blend, and the Micro-Lace are
the most traditional type weaves done today…… it’s certainly a personal
preference and how much hair you want to leave out. Just to recap for
you…so this may give you some insight to which video would suit you
best.

The Mirco-Lace is a full head weave, leaving none of the natural hair out.
Vertical plaits curving to the shape of the head. Then mesh/netting is
secured around the head. Then wefts are stitched on horizontally. He
show’s you how to conceal the crown area (closing) and that’s why I
wanted it but the video kind of skipped forward on certain parts while he
is doing that closing part. You get the general idea how to do the closing
but they could have done a better job showing it. I totally recommend you
do plaits (inverted cornrows) rather than regular cornrows with this
method….just to lessen the bulk factor.

The Perfect Hair Extensions is pretty much a full head technique too, with
just a little hair left out around the hairline and a slight horseshoe left out
on top for blending. Vertical plaits and then you sew the wefts on
horizontally. This is a flatter technique than a round the world weave or
horizontal tracks. This particular video technique they did would be used
more for a lower ponytail look. Although you can do your own custom
technique here to wear the hair higher if you want.

The Intra-Blend Technique ……It leaves out a lot of the natural hair which
is a much more believable look I think. Although that’s just my preference
in general. You can wear a higher ponytail with this particular technique.
Again, several vertical plaits are done in tiny sections over the head and
leaving the hair out in-between. These vertical plaits are connected by
horizontal plaits around the perimeter, pretty much like a box shape. The
wefts are sewn on horizontally.

You will find the videos very amusing …..I can tell you that. He’s a very
interesting guy…but I really do recommend his videos…I now own 11 of
them and I would still buy if he comes out with another hair extension
video. I always learn something new and sometimes you learn what not to
do…LOL.

Creation, if you are interested in learning the Malaysian Method I explain
step by step how to do this method………just type in Malaysian method
once you click on “search” at the top of the page and you should see the
title come up.

Good Luck and let’s us know how it works out for you!!

Hi,

I am a newbie so please be gentle with me.  I have been looking at the Hair to go tapes and am very intrested in them.  But I also don't know which one to get.

Which DVD's would you recommend for african american hair?  I was looking at the micro lace and possibly intra-blend.

And which DVD is the very traditional method of hair weaving???

Thanks so much

Creation

Metalgirl~ there are no cornrows in any of these tapes. They
are all inverted plaits (like french braids)...which is really much
easier.Fabulous Hair Illusions- Is a temporary technique only,
lasting 1 - 2 months. One month on fine hair and up to two
months on coarse textures. The model in the video has fine
blonde hair. It's just a series of slicing ponytails, horizontally. It
shows you how to reinforce it for fine hair. Dream Hair- Again
slicing sections, but a single plait securing it. Then it can be
reinforced to last longer. They claim this one can last up to 4
months with proper maintanence.Glamour Hair Extensions- For
this you can use any of the following to make your main vertical
tracks: cornrows, twists, or french braids. It is connected up with
horizontal ponytails to make your base. Many of them have
quite similar techniques but are just different patterns and
combinations that can be used on a head.

Girl! You have spent a small fortune on these videos! Thanks so much for your input.

Can you tell me more about:

*Fabulous hair technique
*Dream hair
*Glamour hair

I can't cornrow very good. I suppose with practice I could learn. I'm going to look into the tapes.

Thanks!

Yes, I do have all 9 extension/weaving DVD's plus this Remove It DVD.

I think you may like the Intra-Blend Technique for Caucasian hair. It leaves out alot of the natural hair which is a much more believable look I think. Some caucasian hair types can handle plaits well and some can't.
You can wear a higher ponytail with this particular technique.
If you are not comfortable with plaiting (inverted cornrows) you may want to try the Dream Hair Extension which is just sliced sections with a single braid.

The Perfect Hair Extensions is pretty much a full head technique, with just a little hair left out around the hairline and a slight horseshoe left out on top for blending.
Vertical plaits (Inverted cornrows) and sewing the wefts on horizontally. This is a flatter technique than a round the world weave or horizontal tracks. This particular video technique they did would be used more for a lower ponytail look.
Although you can do your own custom technique here to wear the hair higher if you want.

The Intertwist Extensions looked very interesting, but you need to practice this one quite a bit.

The video's are not the best quality but you pick up the technique. They used to show video clips of each one on the shopping cart, but I did not see that on the site tonight.
They are priced at $59.99, buy one get one free.

I do like these videos for the variety of patterns and techniques you learn. I would buy from them again. I just wish the video quality was a little better.

Was it you, Save- a- stray that said you liked some of the Hair to Go tapes?

Which ones do you like? What would be the best method for caucasian hair?

They don't give a lot of description on their website about what exactly each tape covers

Thanks,
