Hi BlackCat, and welcome! I've bought a few things from you off of eBay over the years (including a killer pinstripe skirt that I wear all the time). Anyway, it's good to see you here!

About the hair...it sounds like you have a few options. Right off the bat, though, I would doubt that 24-inch hair will be as long as you need; if you want it to be at your hipline, I'm thinking you'll need like 34-plus (this depends on how tall you are, too). If that is what you want, synth would be the only way to go. But if the 24 is long enough, you're all set then.

You could simply have the wefts installed with tracks or glue (I personally don't like glue, but others do well with that method). I'll leave others to give you an idea about price, because I don't have tracks and don't know what the going rates are.

To answer your questions more specifically, though.

1. Whether the hair tangles or not all depends on the quality of the hair and how you care for it. The longer the hair, the more it will tangle, generally. Do you know the brand or type of hair it is? Is it human or synth?

2. You can still dye your roots with either synth or human. If you want to dye your whole head, though, the synth just won't pick up the color; the human hair will, but may react to the dye differently than your real hair. (In general, it's best to do the dyeing before you install them and between maintenances.)

3. The weight shouldn't be too much as long as the hair is sectioned properly. It's basically only too much weight if you have hairloss issues or if too little of your real hair is incorporated into them. Also, with woven tracks, you just have to make sure the hair isn't cornrowed too tight.

4. You can wash your hair every day with extensions, but I wouldn't recommend it because it shortens the life of the hair.

Good luck! :)

Hey everyone, I'm considering having a few wefts of 24" extensions put into my hair. I currently have long hair (to mid-back) but I want it super long, to my hipline. I'd also like a little more body. I purchased a long 4 foot wide, 24" long weft of black human hair to match my own. Originally I started to create clip-on extensions with the little toupee wig clips and they came out great, but was looking for something a little more permanent. I read that the glue method is horrible on your hair, but that the weave/braid method is not so bad. I also heard it lasts 6-8 weeks before you have to go back into the salon to re-do them.

My questions are: does the hair tangle terribley with them in? Can you still dye your hair? Can you wash every day with them in? And how do you know if the "weight" of them is too much for your hair? Also, with me supplying the extensions already, how much am I looking at to have a salon do this? I'm very excited about the possibility, but don't want to ruin my own long hair in the process! Any help is appreciated! thanks
