Layering Problem...

I think you'll get the longest-lasting curl with a damp set, like Katherine recommended. I know my hair doesn't curl well with an iron, but it lasts for two days with rollers. The curlers are 8 inches long, so they're great for long hair. I have the purple (7/8" dia.) ones because I don't want my hair super-curly. My own personal preference is to spritz each section with a mixture of hair gel dissolved in water (or you can use setting lotion), then roll it on the rod. Let it sit until it's completely dry (I let them dry overnight on my real hair), and you get great, long-lasting curls. You might want to experiment with different rolling techniques until you get the look you want.

I got my curlers at Sally's. They came in a pack of 8 for $7.99 (I think).

I agree with Katherine that heat-styling isn't the healthiest option.

Nevertheless...here's 22 inches of Bohyme silky straight hair. It's a 5-inch wide weft, doubled over so it's 2 1/2 inches wide:

Of course, depending on the look you want, you may want to curl smaller sections or larger sections, use a different-size iron, or loosen the curl by brushing and/or tugging on the ends a bit. Some people prefer to start at the top, near the roots, and wrap in reverse. But as you can see, the hair all fits on the iron and is nowhere near the handle.

okay, when I try to curl it, it wraps around the iron all the way but only goes up to about the middle of the strand. in other words, there isnt enough iron to warp around. so i have to start to curl from the middle of the strand after I curl the bottom. thats when the bottom that was already curled gets tangled with the handle because it is just hanging down.

well what i mean is, i can only curl the ends, because the curling iron isn't long enough to curl the whole strand. catch my drift? Then when I try to curl the top of the strand, the bottom of the strand warps around the handle to the curling iron and gets tangled. :

what are damp rollers? Will all the hair fit around the rollers? The hair is so long it won't even fit around the curling iron.

I know that these pictures don't show the ends, I'm sorry. I've been trying to take a decent picture of my new hair but my camera keeps getting blurry and cutting off the bottom of the hair. At least you can get an idea of the thickness and blending with these pics.

I layered it but now I don;t know what order to put the tracks so some of the shorter layers are underneath and the top is longer and it just looks like a hack job!!! Should I label them or something to know which track goes where? Or is there an easier way to do this?

Another problem I encountered is that the hair is too long to use a curling iron on. Its a pain in the neck.
