I don`t understand why she should cut her hair. Thats what everyone else does. There are no female athletes that I know of with that long of hair. Not only does it look good but it is original.

Four days have passed since anyone commented on the glory of Anna Kournikova`s hair... and that just isn`t right.

I agree with Gord (and that`s a first). I`m a bit of a short hair nut myself but there are some who should never do it. Anna just wouldn`t be Anna with anything other than flowing locks. Wasn`t there a rumour flying round last year she`d had a buzzcut. A misguided fantasy in my opinion.

Didn't Andre Agassi become the No. 1 male tennis player in the world after shaving his head? Please, Anna, don't get any ideas.
Remember Gord, the *real* reason Andre`s tennis improved was his renewed focus on his game (instead of his girl, what was her name, Brooke something? ;-) (joking) Oddly, I was just talking with somebody earlier today about this very subject.

Hey Dave, thats funny! However Try putting on a waist lenght wig and braiding it and play tennis and see if it slows you down every time you move to hit the ball it's flopping all over. I love Annas hair it's very pretty and sexy, and would be some what a shame to just chop it off. I think any celebrity that wants to consider going short donate there hair to Locks For Love, at least then it will be going for a good cause and not in the garbage. I do think she would look good with short hair as good as she looks good with long hair. Yes some females don't look good with short hair but Anna would, and I would start watching tennis also. And yes make her look more mature. She is 19 and looks about 13. Thats just my opion only and I do not talk for any one else. Have a nice day every one. :)

That would be quite a bit of hair on my head... my own thigh-length hair plus a waist-length wig. I can imagine that would be quite bulky! Several years ago when my hair was waist-length i did braid it and play tennis and discovered that while it did flop around it DID NOT adversely affect my game. There you have it -- my own experience on the matter.

In your mind she looks 6 years younger than her age. I`m sure that as the years pass she`ll appreciate knowing that she looks younger than her actual age.

Factors which could affect her game:

* Mental Attitude and preparedness
* Physical conditioning
* Coaching (non-existent!)

Factors which do not affect her game:

* Hair length
* Designer of her threads
* Miles per gallon that her Mercedes gets

Oh c`mon...."the hair slows her down"? I`m not even going to dignify that with a response Mr 666.

Oh, and for the record, I`d say Ms Kournivova looks great with long hair.

I AGREE.

SHE MIGHT ACTUALLY PLAY BETTER WITHOUT THE LONG HAIR, THE HAIR SLOWS HER DOWN WHICH IS PROBABLY WHY SHE LOOSES SO OFTEN.

A CROPPED HAIR CUT WOULD BE GOOD.

I agree she'd look good in just about any style, except maybe a chin length bob, which could make her face look too round. A shoulder length, layered cut with sweeping bangs would look awesome, but it would probably be harder for her to pull it back and play tennis, though. I personally like both very long hair and long-to-short makeovers, so I'd love for her to keep it as is or cut it all off (which we may never see!)

Splash,

When I first read your message, I didn't understand that what you called a woman's perspective was your own perspective. If I would, I wouldn't make such stupid affirmation "I don't know if you are a woman or a man".

Please forgive me, I was not doubting of you, I was only trying to tell that there are many women perspectives as there are women.

I respect your opinion and hope you respect mine.

Karine

And davedecker, I wrote that after reading the posts on this site from the men. That's what the "here" means.

I hate to be a name dropper here, but I saw Anna in person with bangs when and I've seen her without bangs and I think bangs really work for her. Statistics show that 8 out of 10 tennis spectators agree with me. I think.

Hal, what an awesome twist. Of course, I'm grinning from ear to ear with the thought of that. I'll tell you this: It would make me start following women's tennis, that's for sure.

Splash, I don't know if you are a woman or a man, but I can tell you what I think is a real woman's perspective of this topic.

Many of my friends want to wear short hair but don't do it cause they think the guys will don't like it. I used to think the same way till I decided to hear only to myself and choped off my long mane. I have disapointed some guys but not all of them.

Hair, like everything in our bodies, has a sexual role, thus you can't only see the things by a exclusive male or female perspective. Generally speaking, the girls who thinks first in attraction keep their hair long and the ones who think in the pleausure of theirselves cut it short.

Fortunatelly, this question admits many exceptions and gradations from both sides. My boyfriend is miles away from be called a short hair lover, but he loves my short hair and don't want me to let it grow.

Anna Kournikova, like any other woman, have only to follow her heart.

Hi Splash,

I agree with your perspective. One comment though, you wrote "yeh yeh, I know the male's perspective here..." Although most of the men who frequent this board seem to prefer women to have short hair, I doubt that that's the case among the male population at large.

I think Anna's draw IS her hair - it's feminine and luxurious and long. (yeh yeh, I know the male's perspective here, but this is a Female's perspective). It would not look right, just like when that curly-haired girl Kari what's-her-name cut her gorgeous curls off. If Anna had short hair, it wouldn't be the same. She'd still be long-legged and cute, but I personally think she'd look more like a baby with short hair.

The figure was my own personal stat. You can determine that by the way the sentence is stated - "I think..."

Having looked closer at Anna - I would think just about any hairstyle would work on her, in other words, she is rather hot. My personal opinion would be a shoulder length, layered cut with sweeping bangs.
