It isn't a mullet! You can tell in one of the pics where she turned her head that it is pulled back with clips or something. It is probably growing out a little & she wanted to do something different with it.
It is cute short in my opinion. I definately like it brown, looks more natural on her. Long or short, I don't care. Although, she sure wasn't ugly with it blonde either. But, I didn't even know who she was until it was brown. As JF said, she blended in with the crowd back then.

Actually, I don't think it's cut shorter. If you look closely at the style, it's the same cut she had at the Oscars. Weirdly, if anything, it's a grown out version of the shorter cut that she had before. And while, normally, overgrown short cuts are one of my favorite looks, this...uh...doesn't work.

Also, I thought short and brown worked much better for her than long and blonde. The latter made her look like another of the Britney/Skanktina/etc cadre.

That's a good point actually.

With the long blonde hair she was very pretty, but girly. The short dark hair makes her look more womanly. But she looks good either way (except for that weird mullet thingy).

When she had her long blonde hair, I couldn't distinguish her from any other the other blonde female singers out right now. She stands out from that crowd now. I think it looks great short and agree with everyone else that she could do without the extra length in the back.

I think she looks very cute in those pictures but I'd like to see it cut a little shorter in back to get rid of that mullet thing she has going on.

Mandy looks just fine in short hair, she has nice features but she should cut her hair a little shorter and a little neater. Her hair looks a little too messy and unkept.

She was just on some show on MTV... Looks pretty bad, IMO. I think she should go with the long dark hair or the very short dark hair. Hopefully this is just a step toward the former, though I wouldn't argue her going back to the latter either. Just don't stay here!

She wass cute with long blonde hair and withlong dark hair but she looked awesome when her hair was at its shortest a few months ago. I agree it does look like a mullet. I don't like it, she looked cuter when it was shorter all over. I would like to see her go very short like a buzzed nape pixie cut. But any thing is better than what she has now, including long hair.

It's interesting in that if you go to page 30 of the Mandy Moore shots on wireimage.com, you can see how awesome she actually looked as a longhaired blonde. Again, what a waste of good hair.

It is longer in the back and shorter on the top and sides. Sort of a mullet but I think she looks terrific. I hope she keeps it short. She has the face and general style to carry it off and it is ever so much more interesting than her long hair.

i disagree, her hair now is longer than it was a few months back. u can see the pics in the message board when it was cut short, now it has grown and turned into ur ""mullett". it looked better shorter
