QuoteReplyTopic: Britney doesn't have extensions Posted: July 05 2003 at 11:03am
did say they weere selfish for using hair extensions when someone who could better use that hair may not be able to for either price or because all the celebs are using up donated hair for hair extensions.
Are you sure that Britney used donated hair? Obviously, I don't know the situation exactly, but I think an educated guess is that she paid money for her extensions and did not use anything that was donated for cancer victims.
ow if they are using synthetic hair then thats ok, but I still think they should not cut there hair if two weeks after they do they have hair extensions in, whats the use of changeing styles if it only lasts two weeks?
Maybe she thought she'd like short hair and she didn't. Or maybe the ends of her hair were so damaged that they had to be cut. We can only spectulate, but it's her hair and her money!
Calling someone selfish because she didn't cut her hair makes no sense at all.
In case you didn't know, wigs can easily and much more inexpensively be made from synthetic hair, which can be made to look very natural. I read my replys and no where did it say they were selfish for not cutting there long hair and donating it. I did say they weere selfish for using hair extensions when someone who could better use that hair may not be able to for either price or because all the celebs are using up donated hair for hair extensions. Now if they are using synthetic hair then thats ok, but I still think they should not cut there hair if two weeks after they do they have hair extensions in, whats the use of changeing styles if it only lasts two weeks? For that matter they could just wear a fake hair wig. Or they could do like some celebs and not ever cut there hair, I know that would please Gord!

have never met a cancer patient or a person that has that disease that cause your hair to fall out, but I do know it does happen to litte childern, some whos parents can't afford to buy a nice wig so there kid does not get made fun of like by some one like you Jennifer.
I would never dream of making fun of anyone, child or adult, who lost his hair to cancer, and I never said anything of the sort. Your imagination went pretty wild on that one!
Again, it's only logical that IF the long-haired celebrities are "selfish" for not donating their hair to make wigs, then so are the short hair celebrities for not growing theirs!
Bottom line: hair is a personal thing. We each have our own preferences and should wear our hair like we wish. Calling someone selfish because she didn't cut her hair makes no sense at all.

[QUOTE=shorthair75_2000] I do wish that these self centerded celebs would stop wasting hair like that when some poor kid who has cancer or another medical condition could use it for a wig so they don't get teased in school.
I could not agree more! Let's put the pressure on people like Halle Berry and Charlize Theron to quit being selfish and cultivate their hair so they can cut it off and donate it to a worthy cause.
I mean, really, the nerve of some people......
Boy what sarcasm. You funny!!! I have never met a cancer patient or a person that has that disease that cause your hair to fall out, but I do know it does happen to litte childern, some whos parents can't afford to buy a nice wig so there kid does not get made fun of like by some one like you Jennifer. People like Britney think they can use all this human donated hair for them selfs and never think that some one else my need it more than they do. Did britneys hair fall out? Did she have it shaved off do to an injury to her head? The answer is no to both questions. Do I think everyone should grow there hair out just to chop it off and donate it? No. But these celebs need to find better ways of making them self feel better about there hair. They get a hair cut they don't like grow it out like everyone else. Britney spent some thing like $20,000 on a pair of scissors to cut her hair with for what ? She always has hair extensions. Heres an idea lose the extensions and use the scissors get regular trims stop bleaching your over processed hair and grow it out inch by inch and some day her hair will be looking good and no need for extensions.

o, thank-you, Eminem Gurl, for your thought provoking input into this discussion and may you continue to provide us with your viewpoint
You mean screwpoint
Sorry....couldn't resist!
As for the guy who said that he's glad Britney's mom "made her cut her hair," isn't Britney over 18? We can judge her hair all we want, but she's the one who has to look in the mirror each morning.
Now there's the type of well reasoned, on topic, and insightful viewpoint we've been after. It can be taken so many ways...
- As an insult, though this casual interpretation implies a very shallow contemplation of the phrase, taking on the surface meaning with a knee-jerk reaction.
- As a literal suggestion, which, while a desirable offer for many of the male (and some female) members of this board, indicates the author has the authority to act as an agent for Britney's "services". Though not familiar with Eminem Gurl's resume, I do have my reservations in this area as well.
- As a figurative suggestion, meaning that Gurl is hoping for another hairstylist to further obfuscate the situation with Britney's hair by doing it in such a way that either looks more unattractive or makes it more difficult to determine what it actually looks like. Such as putting her in an Elvira wig. Which would probably work in some odd way.
- As a grammtically and tense-challenged commiseration, which would mean that Gurl meant to say "screwed Britney", indicating sympathy to Miss Spears seemingly on-going identity crisis that only seems exacerbated by her hairstyle indecision and the machinations of her stylists and image makers. Unfortunate, indeed.
So, thank-you, Eminem Gurl, for your thought provoking input into this discussion and may you continue to provide us with your viewpoint and wisdom in the coming days.

3 pm is simultaneously too late and too early to start anything.
I'm sorry, but I think she looks like crap there. Usually she looks much prettier, but in those pics....awful,awful,awful. She looks like some kind of ostrich.

Hair color doesn't fade in a month, especially when you get an expensive dye job like Britney. She isn't stealing anyone's hair when she gets extensions. There's more than enough hair for the children who need wigs. The idea that rich people should stop buying things because there are poor people who need more than they do is a wonderful communist ideal, but not something that works in reality.
Actually Rod, you'd be surprised at how fast hair can fade when it is very porous like Britney's probably is. And I say that because of all the bleaching she has done to remain blonde, that will make your hair porous. I've had highlights from bleach & when I color over them with a brown dye they do fade back to a light brown/blonde. It doesn't matter how expensive the job is, once the hair is damaged it becomes more porous. Perhaps that is why they cut it, to get rid of some of the damage. I agree with previous posters, she'll get extensions because she never seems to be happy long with short hair!

When I mentioned in a post on hair extensions that Britney had extensions, I wasn't meaning right at this moment. In the past youwould see her with shoulder length and the next week with long hair.
Yes, she has a history of extensions as with most stars whom have hair past their shoulders. Not all of them but most do.
I am a professional Hairstylist/Haircolorist with 19 years experience. I have traveled all over the country for my advanced education. I am also a salon owner.:)........and I LOVE Redken!!!
I am with YB on this one. Britney has looked better. The cut is BORING. The color lacks definition, dimension. AND last but not least, her hair looks like it has been run through torture. Very tired and overprocessed looking. I am just going by these pics. I think she should whack it all off and start over. Leaving it alone from then on, of course. Now wouldn't that be a novelty in the music business? To have hair that is actually healthy and your own?
I can honestly say this is the worst I have ever seen Britney look, and I am normally a big fan of her look. Was the dark brown really that bad that she needed to lighten it so soon? Or is she just addicted to blondeism (it can happen)? Plus, what's the deal with her having two chins?
