Trout, I agree with you 100%. After weathering years of straightened-to-within-an-inch-of-it's-life, center-parted, flat, blah hair, this is quite an enjoyable renaissance. Finally, celebs are turning from styles that were lifeless and unflattering (IMHO) to styles that are cute, fun, and full. I love the resurgence of curls, of course, but I'm just as grateful for the bangs, the layers, the waves, and the short cuts - anything that breaks up the monotony of the old styles in favor of styles with some personality. I think virtually every celeb looks better as a result.
As with all trends, it's cyclical, I'm sure, but I'm enjoying it while it lasts!
Mya is just such a beautiful woman, I mean unusually feminine and beautiful! She looks like she would be a nice person too. But I can just imagine how she attracts attention from the guys-(and lesbian women!)- I'm glad to see so many attractive women getting their hair cut short too. The more of us ladies wearing short hair the better!
I think after about 4 years of stick straight, long hair on every celebrity its safe to say that Short hair is coming back in a vengence. In the last few days we've seen Kirsten Dunst, Natalie Portman, and Brittany Murphy. In the last few months Alyssa Milano, Marley Shelton, Julia Stiles.
Those are big names. Glad to just have some variety and not have to discuss whether somebody cut 2 inches off between interviews. Any other names to add to that list?
I've just hated the basic lack of style the last couple of years. I don't mind long hair but I appreciate a little variety. Thoughts on the trend in general?
