I forgot her current age, but she looks exccruciatingly old, like 45 to me, and i am sure she is nowhere near that.
Then again, she can choose to look how old she wants. Despite that, we're also free to hate it outright, regardless of age, age portraed, style, etc.
I hate all of the following and lots more : Fundamentalists, racists, sexists, fascists, ageists (people saying seniors = senile , kids = stupid , 18 = immature or a combo of them), and bigots for causes yet to receive their own designation.

Actually, it was my being just totally taken in with Alanis Morissette a couple of years ago, that got me to thinking about what I project to people and that I wanted to be a subject in my own life rather than an object. Growing my hair long was part of the process, part of freeing myself from fretting everyday about the way I look.
However, her life is hers, and as much as i loved the way she looked, and dislike the way she looks now, it´s really non of my business. Alanis will always be a great role model for me.
Aside from maybe Julia Ormond, I don't think I've ever been more disappointed about a celebrity going short. Alanis is such a talent; too bad she looks like everyone else now! Unlike some of you, I think she's very pretty, but much of her sensuality has disappeared with her hair, in my view. Bob

For what it's worth... for anybody who might care to know... I read a little blurb in the newspaper last week that said that she cut her hair by herself, at home, while watching the Oscars.

Seriously, other than being easier to take care of, can Alanis really like this look better than the days of her stunning flowing locks days that made her a longhair icon?
I like her new look. It isn't spectacular but it isn't bad either. To me she is an attractive woman, especially with this new short hairstyle!
As far as her looking like a modern businesswoman; I've seen some very fine looking modern women in the business world. I don't know how that would qualify as an insult. I admit one of the reasons that Alanis looks good to me regardless of her hair length is that I like what I know of her personality and I like her music. I have a very favorable impression of the lady!

I couldn't find the pics of Alanis, too bad I really like her. However:- I found some pics of the incredibly beautiful Alyssa Milano, and numerous other beauties, which made the search worthwhile.
Look for the Starsky and Hutch pics. Sadly, not very good pics for hair watchers. She's wearing a black jacker, and you can't see her style very well, but it is really short compared to her past look. Thumbs up from me, just for the change.
My two cents
We all know what opinions are like...and I've got both!
