She looks great but I still have to say "Waaaaahhhhh" too just like the other poster. I thought her long hair was gorgeous. It was so Arwen-esque. Maybe that's why she decided to change it.

I liked Liv's hair in Cookies Fortune. That was the cutiest I've ever seen Liv's hair. The dutch boy look was cute too. I'm glad she cut some lenght off, it was getting very long and boring, plus every time I looked at her she looked like her dad, for some reason she looks more femine with shorter hair to me. I like the lenght she has it now it looks good, but as a short hair lover and knowing how cute she looked with short hair I hope she goes even shorter.

The cut looks OK, but I think her hair looked infinitely better before she cut it. She's re-joined the crowd. Very unfortunate, but it IS much better than that pixie!
Hey Gord rest assured its just pulled up. I don't think Liv will ever cut her hair short again, she got it out of her system when she filmed Cookies Fortune, Which I thought she looked rather sexy in all the different styles she had when she was growing her hair out. You can get better pics of her at Getty Images.
Although I appreciate the artistic expression that was attempted...I don't think that the style enhanced Liv's face, and for this occasion, i think it should. Jacqui

This was more of a sculpture, than an updo. I hate when I see hair on the street,(or in this case at award shows), that belongs on stage at hair shows.Artistic merit-10/10, Appropriateness1/10.Granted her style is generally a bit left of center anyway, but I feel the pendulum swung way to far on this one...

I watched the Joan & Melissa Rivers red carpet show and then (most of) the Academy Awards show last night. From what I could tell, Liv Tyler's hairstyle was an updo and the wavy section on the side that was not part of the updo was her bangs (she has really long bangs - so long that I guess I probably shouldn't call them bangs but rather layers on the sides). I think that photo doesn't do her hairstyle justice. When viewed from the side, it looked much better - you could see the updo part of the style. I thought she looked fabulous.

Definitely looks like an updo to me. Interesting. Very interesting. The glasses remind me of Lisa Loeb's.
Monica: Isn't there any way that you could look at this as flattering? I mean, she's doing this to be more like you. Rachel: Well, then, couldn't she have just copied my haircut?
You know Gord, I looked at it a long, long time. If it isn't cut, it is one of the best up-do's I've ever seen. For a night like the academy awards, I thought it was a wonderful look.
