that reminds me, Mandy Moore did the same thing before filming a movie that she played a tom boy. She thought it would look alright but the producers thought she looked like a boy, she was like duh! My character is a tom boy. I thought she looked hot.

I don't think Gwenneth Paltrow cut her hair for that movie, have you seen her with short hair since then ? How about Kate Beckinsale and Clair Danes in Broken Down Palace. Jennifer Love Hewitt cut her hair to chin lenght for a movie, the name I can't think of at the moment, I don't know if its been released yet.
"Actually most actresses don't cut their hair short due to the fact that it can take a while to grow out short hair.
They mostly rely on short wigs rather than actual cuts to make them have short hair. Maybe they are just too scared to go short for real."
Not really true.
"If what you say is true then why hasnt Nicole Kidman gone short for her newest film rather than wearing a wig?"
I didn't say all actresses for every role. Catherine Zeta Jones, for example, always seems to go for the wig.
But since you don't believe me, here's the laundry list, just off the top of my head. And these are women, incidentally, I've seen mention they cut their hair for the role.
Sandra Bullock- Demolition Man Kim Basinger- LA Confindential Janine Turner- Nothern Exposure Julia Roberts- The Mexican Melanie Griffith- Working Girl Annete Benning- In Dreams Reese Witherspoon- Sweet Home Alabama Jill Hennesey- Law and Order Geena Davis- The Long Kiss Goodnight Kim Cattral- Sex and The City Emma Thompson- Wit Penelope Cruz- Gothika Neve Campbell- Scream 2 Mariska Hargitay- L&O SVU Natlie Portman- The Professional Liv Tyler- Cookie's Fortune Connie Nielsen- Basic Michelle Pfieffer- Dangerous Minds Rosario Dawson- Sin City Toni Collete-Eight and a half women(possibly the wrong title) Joan Chen- Temptation of a Monk Angelina Jolie- Gia Angie Everhart- Some b movie Hilary S****- Boys Don't Cry Linda Cardellini- Scooby Doo(her real hair in the first, a wig in the second) Jennifer Jason Leigh-Single White Female Mary Stuart Masterson- Some kind of Wonderful Carrie Ann Moss- The Matrix Phoebe Cates- Drop Dead Fred
So yeah, I stand by my previous statement.
