Well, again, you may get a lot of breakage having more stuff done to it. Watch them closely and make sure they aren't going too close to your roots so if the worst happens and your hair breaks really badly, you at least won't have to go shorter than a pixie cut. Be sure you let the salon know what has already been done to your hair so they realize your hair is fragile and porous and they will be careful what they do to it.
Good luck, I sure hope it goes okay!

Thank you so much, i was worried no one would answer me. my original color is light brown, like a brown sugar, this darkness on my fair skin has me reminisant of Elvira. if i have highlights done they will be foil wrap, so there is not much tugging on the hair, i would really like to have the all over color lightened back but was just afraid of drying and breakage from over processing because my hair is on the dry side naturally. GOSH..i don't want to end up bald..LOL....Thanks again
If she doesn't go all the way to the roots with the highlighting, I don't think there's any risk of hair falling out (I know sometimes when they pull it through they don't get all the way to the head). Dyeing more and more will damage it, but provided you don't do too much other damaging stuff to your hair, it should be able to take it if you just have her fix it. If she just uses something with green undertones, it should counter the red in it.

went to the hair dresser saturday, the highlighting over the summer, had gotten my hair way to light so i asked her to go over it and pull it all through. the salon was busy and she was doing a partial high;ight on another client while i sat with dye in my hair so maybe she left it on to long but when she rinsed it out my hair was red...pomagranet red. i was horrified. she didn't have time to fix it said i will have to go back tuesday. i walked into my house and my kids were rolling on the floor, it almost looked purple. i washed it a couple dozen times, now they say i just look like ozzy osborn :( my question is, i have such thinning hair already even though i'm only 40, (must be hereditary) but if i have her recolor it, will my hair fall out or will my hair be damaged, would i be better off having it highlighted to lighten it...any thoughts would be appreciated....
