As your color fades, you will probably get some funky color (anything from pink to peach to gray to who knows what) so you will probably have to keep doing it darker every once in awhile until the bleached part grows out. White hair doesn't hold color very well. The reason it turned gray is because dyes are designed with base colors that are meant to counter colors that are naturally in hair. But if you bleached your hair white, you no longer had any of those natural tones left in your hair, so any time you dye it from white you will have to be careful (and likely do it more than once with opposing base colors).
I read your post in the bloopers section, so about what you say to your stylist, well, it's still your hair. They may get annoyed with you for doing your own hair, but you have the right to do anything you want to do, so they can complain if they want, but it's your hair to do with what you wish.

Hi. I bleached my already salon blonde hair yesterday (to a level 10 blonde) and I didn't like the result. It was just too light for me. So I decided to put a dark blonde/light brown color over it and it turned GRAY! Not like silver, like a platinum metal color! WHAT HAPPEND?? I've heard of that happening to other people before but it must have slipped my mind when I was doing it (I did have peroxide on my head all day!). I freaked and ended up dying it again a dark auburn color and now it's OK. But why in the world did it turn gray first? And when my color now fades a little more will it start looking gray? Any comments or advice would help. Thanks!
This is because I can spell konfusion with a K It's hard to like it It's to dying in anothers arms And why i had to try it... - Something Corporate "Konstantine"
