I have really curly hair...i love it and i hate it, depends on the day. Try washing and conditioning, like you usually would, and then combing out wet hair. Flip your hair over and run your fingers through it,then make a crimping motin with your hands, until all of your hair is wet and curly again. then spray in a small amount of spritz or hairspray, while its wet. It works great, your hair will dry beautifully!

Hi everyone..
I just got a perm 3 days ago and I bought the curl vive shaping gel to help hold my curl. However, my hair gets really stiff and crunchy. Are there any products out there that help define curl, but don't make your hair crunchy??
THanks :)

Hey,

I know exactely what you are talking about. I have really super tight curly hair and recently I got my hair cut. I mean, I really got a hair cut. My hair was to my butt and now it`s chin level. I was really nervous about the big change, but now my hair anxiety is gone. I use Biolage gelee on my hair. I think gelee is spelled that way on the package. You should be able to find it at a local salon. It`s about $10.00 and the bottle is huge so the extra money is definately worth it. I love it. My hair never feels crunchy. As a matter of fact, people touch my hair all the time and think I don`t use anything in it at all. This stuff is great. It controls frizz even in rainy weather. It smells great and even conditions my hair. You might want to try several Biolage products. Their hairspray is even great on curly hair. It`s not sticky at all. Hope this helps! :)

You mayy also want to try Aveda`s humectant pomade. I used to perm my hair and loved this product because it defined the curls, left them really shiny and wasn`t "crunchy" at all ... very soft. However, it doesn`t have any "hold". But still a great curly hair product:)

There is some things you can do. I have really curly hair and my hair use to be crunchy because of the products i used. While hair is wet, fill the palm of your hand with mousse and distribute all through hair. Afterwards, take some more mousse and scrunch through hair until your hair is really curly. Flip head upside down and blowdry your hair with a diffuser. Move the diffuser up and down as if your scrunching your hair with it.

I have curly hair and I use Batia and Aleeza Gel for styling options. If I put it on wet, then the curls will be crunchy for a few hours (until my hair dries), if I put it on when my hair is dry, it keeps my hair soft, curly and dry too. Hope this helps you!

I have very curly hair and I`ve found that moose works alot better at making hair less crunchy. But even sometimes I`ll have crunchy parts...so I just rub my fingers against them to make them soft.
