you poor thing!I recently bought a professional straightener and was told that because of how hot it gets, I should put a protective coating on my hair first, so that this instead of my hair would get burnt. The hairdresser said to use a heat activated laminate, Frizz Ease do one, so use one of these if you have to straighten your hair. I know how awful it is going without your straightener, but try to spend a week without it. I recommend that you start a new regime, on a Friday night, shampoo your hair with a shampoo that is designed to get rid of a build up of products and leave the lather on for 5minutes. After this, use a deep, intensive conditioner, eg Henna, and leave it on for 30minutes - 1hour, depending on how damaged your hair is. Rinse this out and add a small amount of a leave in conditioner, preferably one that does not contain a lot of alcohol, eg Frizz Ease first aid. Leave your hair to dry naturally ( thats really important, as using a hair dryer will undo all your good work ) and when it is half dry, use a smoothing product that does not contain alcohol, eg Schwarzkopf frizz control serum is really good, it helps to restore hair and is really cheap. Put a generous amount of this on your hair again when it is completely dry. Only brush it when it is wet, and when it is completely dry, pull it into a low pony and sleep with it like that. In the morning, use a spray container to spritz water on to your hair, making it damp, but not wet and add a generous amount of the smoothing serum again. After this, don`t brush your hair too much if you can help it as this adds frizzies, just pull it into a pony. Use a light spritz of a hairspray that isn`t heavy, eg Frizz ease shape and shine. Take the smoothing serum with you instead of the hairspray and if it goes frizzy, use this instead. Try not to use mousse. At the end of the day, don`t shampoo your hair, but repeat everything else. Do this for at last a week. At the end of that time, your hair should be much healthier and you should be able to start using your straightener again soon. When you do start straightening again, unless you have greasy hair, put off shampooing for as long as possible, 4-5 days should be enough, and carry on conditioning every 2nd or 3rd night for a couple more weeks. When you have washed your hair, always leave it to dry naturally and only straighten it when it is completely dry.
