That is NOT a relaxer. It is simply a hairdress. And Lyris was right. African-American products tend to be heavier Caucasian, so if that's what you are looking for, then that's fine. But other than that, give yourself a strand test with it. If you don't like it, you can always wash it out.

Hi there! I haven't used the product you referred to, but in general products designed for African-American hair tend to be a bit on the heavy side if you are Caucasian. If you want to make your hair softer and healthier-looking, I recommend a gentle shampoo and moisturizing conditioner. There are virtually hundreds on the market today, but a few of my personal favorites for dry hair are Redken All Soft shampoo and conditioner, Mizani Moisturefuse conditioner (great if you can take the smell, yick!), Jherri Redding Professional RX humidifier, Frizz Ease Glistening Creme and Phyto Systeme Hydro-Botanics shampoo.
Good luck with whatever you decide to try! :-)

I'm a white skinned wavy/curly head, and I my mother picked up some Clairol Textures and Tones Hairdress for me today. However I read the label and it says that it's made especially for woman of color. Will it still have some good effects on my hair? I'm just looking for something to give me shine and moisture. What do you think?
