Sorry, I live on the West Coast so I don`t know of any natural salons in your area. But there is a good book called "Let`s Talk Hair" by Pamela Farrell that shows detailed instructions of styling natural hair, such as twists, twists-outs, palm-rolls, and others. There is also a website, www.ourhair.net which has instructions at styling hair in their "how-to" section. Good luck and kudos to you for standing up for your hair against hairdressers who insist on straightening it against your wishes.
It matters not what you are thought of, but what you are- Syrus

I wear my hair natural. I usually where braids but I`d like to try a press and curl or something else that doesn`t include harsh chemicals. everytime I call a salon they either dont deal with natural hair or they try to convince me to get a relaxer. it took me a long time to grow out the chemicals and I dont want to go back. If anyone knows where I can go with my natural hair please let me know I live in Queens. Thanks
