The vitamins has made me sick too in the past. I thought is was a side affect or something. Then my doctor and I realized that I was taking them on an empty stomach. If I have not eating, I will at least have a snack with my vitamins to keep from getting so queezy. I haven`t been sick since due to the vitamins. I do not have my vitamins with me right now, but I will get the dosage for you. If you go to the grocery store, wal-mart, or a k-mart of some sort, look in the vitamin/supplement area. I`ve seen them in all 3 stores. It was very obvious because it will have the word prenatal vitamins on it. I haven`t checked, but I`m sure you probably could get them from a GMC store too.

I have not gained any weight. I asked my doctor, if it would be ok to continue taking my vitamins, and she said it would be just fine if I wanted to. In matter of fact, she gave me a new prescription last week. Maybe it makes others gain weight, but not me.

wait though, do they make you gain a ton of weight? they sound like a supplement more than anything. if you don`t need them for their primary purpose, it might harm your body`s chemistry and equilibrium to take them.

I am still taking one vitamin per day. I do not wish to overdose on vitamins. Yes, prenatal vitamins does contain iron. Everyones vitamins does not contain the same dosage though. Example, if you have low iron, then the doctor would most likely prescribe something that is proficient for your needs. I have no problems at all with my vitamins. Not only are they growing my hair, they are also giving me a lot of energy too. Like I stating in a previous message, they are available over-the-counter, but they are not as strong as prescribed vitamins. Why not get all the benefits of a vitamin, rather than only growing your hair.

I was going to try prenatals too, when I was considering which hair pill to buy. The only thing that turned me off was the iron that most of them have. Too much can cause *eek* constipation. I am taking Ultranourishair from GNC and its working really well. I think also that hormones from pregnancy alone promote hair growth. But if the pills are working for you, great!!!

Just curious, are still taking the required one vitamin a day, or are you taking more.

And just to let the doubters know, I have a friend who has been taking prenatal vitamins for a year now. Her son is 8 years old. I guess her hormones contributed to her growth as well. If I knew that pre-vitamins could give such a result, I would have taken them a long time ago.

I am sure hormones played some kind of role in my hair growth. I would want to think that my hormones are back to normal after 7 months(I hope). I will continue to consume my vitamins, and keep you updated.

I'm happy to hear of your success though!

I agree with Lake. Most of the growth probably was due to your homones while pregnant as well as the extra dosage in those vitamins.

Considering that I had my hair completely shaved in the back during my ninth month of pregnancy, and now having my hair well past my shoulders, I do not think it was my hormones. Now if this growth had occured during my pregnancy and not the last month of it, then I could say it was hormones then. I am no longer nursing, but I am still taking my vitamins. My hair is now well past my shoulders within 7 months after my pregnancy. My hair is very strong and healthy now and I say thanks to prenatals and patients.

I totally agree with you. I also had a very short hair cut and when I was pregnant with my son I took the prenatal vitamins as well. Not only did my hair grow longer it was very, very thick. I continued taking them six months after he was born while I was breastfeeding and my hair continued to grow very long.
