HAve you tried good ol` curl activator? It moisturizes my hair and it helps define my curls. I use Sta Soft Fro and the Proclaim Curl activator gel from Sally`s.

I think that you are taking care of her hair like a hair dresser or something. You are pretty good. There isn`t much you can do besides what you are doing now. Just wash it and grease it, that`s just about it. try Creme of nature detangling conditioning shampoo, this is the bomb,
I use to use this before I started to get my perm,
it keeps it my hair from geting nappy.
I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I react to it. And so it is with you...we are in charge of our life.

By the way, the whole point of this is to be able to let her hair out. As it is now, we always have to braid, ponytail, twist, etc. I`d love to be able to braid maybe the front and leave the back out curly.

My 5 year old daughter has A LOT of very thick, curly but terribly dry hair. I am NOT looking to "straighten" it out. But I would like to know of any products that will soften it up. I`ve tried so many different shampoos, conditioners, oil moisturizers, grease, etc. and none have really done anything but make her hair look greasy and weigh it down. I want something first off that will soften and moisturize her hair so that it`s not so dry (especially in the back). Next, I`d like something that will keep the curls!!! They are so pretty, but as soon as her hair dries, the curls tend to poof out. I have the patience to do anything, even if it takes a couple of months to really see a difference.. and she`s so great about letting me do ANYTHING to her! So any suggestions would be helpful.. thanks in advance!
