How can I get softer natural hair?

Please try Pantene Hydrating Curls Conditioner and after conditioning with it use a little as a leave in, it makes my hair really soft.

Also, there's a rosemary growth spray that makes the hair extremely soft after you've spritzed hair with it and it dries. The ingredients are: 12 drops of Rosemary essential oil, 1oz of jojoba essential oil,1/2 oz of vegetable glycerine (all of these available at health food stores),1oz of aloe vera gel, 1/2 oz of Pantene Hydrating Curls Conditioner (or the conditioner of your choice). Mix all these ingredients into a spray bottle that is 1/2 full with distilled water. Shake well and use liberally daily.

Please try AVEDA Pure Brilliant shampoo and conditioner. Your hair will retain its kinkiness but the comb slides right through even after it dries. Also hair stays moisturized-- little or no grease needed. Please tri it. It is the BEST!!!!

I`ve been reading this board and I went out and bought the Wild Growth Hair Oil. It has made a difference in the texture, but it still takes 2 hours to blowdry my hair. I don`t like to wear it natural during the colder months because it makes my head damp and I`ll catch a cold easily.

I guess no one here believes in texturizers. I think I`ll just stay natural, this is the healthiest my hair has ever been.

what type of moisterizing products are you using? those condition washes really do work especially with growth. I am natural as well, i recently cut my loc`s so i am sporting a teeny fro. i moisturize my hair with s curl moisturizer and sister girl its absolutely FABULOUS.


Oh yeah , i`m also taking msm , silica gel and some omegas which help make your hair softer and shiny

I`m new here so forgive me if I have redundant questions.

I cut the perm out of my hair about 3 years ago to 1 inch of hair. I have not put any chemicals (dyes, perms, etc.) in my hair since.

I wear my hair in a curly pom-pom on the top of my head from April to September and I wear it straight from the middle of September until the rainy season.

My hair is now level with my shoulder blades (about 2 inches above bra strap). It takes me 2 hours to style my hair everytime I wash my it, which is once a week. I wash my hair with either White Rain, Creme of Nature or Physique. I condition with the same brands. I put on my heat cap with the conditioner for about 20 to 30 minutes. I rinse and blow dry, then hot curl. I only do the blow dry and hot curl once a week since both are very damaging to Black hair.

I am considering getting a texturizer in my hair to relax the natural curls a bit. I would love to wear my hair in it`s natural state, but the curls are so tight, (about the size of a drinking straw). I tried to wear it this way and it looked cute for about an hour then it looked a mess afterwards. It shrunk down to about 3 or 4 inches and looked like a half afro, half gheri curl.

Does anyone here have a texturizer? And if so, what is the best brand out there that won`t dry out my hair.
