Michelle, All you do is roll the braids just as you would your hair as far as you like. Then you dip them into boiling water for 3-5 min. Please take note that it's best to have someone assit you, so you don't burn yourself.
I want what you have! I plan on doing some synthetic braids and wanted to know if you and your mom could tell me exactly what you did to get the curls at the end of the braids. It's call steam sealing. did she dip the loose end of the braids in hot water first or can you tell me what she did? please feel free to email me at pooz1e@yahoo.com if you can help or anyone else who can help.
how do I keep them from slipping off my hair lol. My mom says that she didn't really get them in tight enough because it slipped off of my hair. one has already slipped off completley. Is there anything I can do to keep them from slipping off all over or am I screwed?
Awww sweetie, the curls may not come out. How big are the braids? Regular or micro. I have micros that are not braided all the way down. I keep them from unraveling by making a loose easy to comb out not at the end of the braid. It keeps the braid together, but wont not my hair. I also use wet and wavy hair, which you might like b/c you could create a more funcky style than a girly girl one. I wish I could see your hair. It would be easier to help, but you may have to start again. But next time try wet and wavy micros. They take longer to get in and out. but the look is pretty cool.
I'm getting braids done and my mother who's doing them said that the only way to do them without using rubberbands or burning to keep them from unraveling is to curl them. We've done so with 3 rows and it looks horrible. it goes straight and then right at the bottom they are tight shirley temple ringlets. I hate it so much that I want to cry because she is acting as if she isn't going to do anything about it. I'm actually a punk type of girl and temple ringlets don't appeal to me in the slightest bit. I'm going back to extensions because we are going on a 3 week road trip and I don't want to deal with wireless straighteners and curling irons.
My question is, how do we take the curl out of these rows?? We put curlers in and put them in hot water for about 5 minutes and they are extremly tight now.
