I'm not sure if its necessary, because I always follow with Humectress. My hair is fine, and most protein conditioners make it feel wiry if I don't follow with moisture. I use Keraphix once a week every week.

Cebnn,

I usually use a moisturizing conditioner afterwards anyway although my hair feels fine after. I get it a Walgreens (1.99) in a brown and white packet. It looks like a sample package but there is a good amount inside. I use the whole thing on my hair.

Hey Diamond! I have a couple of favorites. I actually use a light protein conditioner every week. I like Mane'N' Tail Conditioner. It does a good job with breakage. I use it about twice a month. I also like Organics Hair Mayo because its not only strengthening but it's also very moisturizing. I don't have to use another condtioner for moisture afterwards. For high protein, I'm using either Henna n' Placenta or Hennalucent. It works the best for my hair so far. I use either one once a month.

Jasmine2g3: Humectress and Keraphix are for 2 different things: Humectress is moisturizing and Keraphix is a reconstructor. I think Humectress does an excellent job at moisturizing. I love it although I don't use it all the time. Keraphix is a light protein and it works ok too. It's not my favorite protein but it gets the job done. If you e-mail the company they will give you a sample of both.

I always follow up with a moisturizing conditioner just in case I over do it with the protein conditioners.

I think since keraphix isn't as strong as other protein conditioners you probably don't need to follow with a moisturizing conditioner. I have never used it though.
