wut up ya'll? figured i would summarize the pomades that i used and took pictures of in my other thread. unless the mods have a problem with it, whenever i try a new pomade, i'll just add the review to this one. i probably won't be trying anything new for the next few weeks, since i'm 4 deep in pomades right now, but i got my eye on a thing or two to try in the future. now, onto the reviews: 1 brush= i just as soon coulda used nothing 2 brushes= i don't like it and don't see any potential in it 3 brushes= it's a'ight. it may have some potential. 4 brushes= yo, the fellas on the waveboard need to know about this 5 brushes= ghostface's lyric "i put my ring up to my man's waves and seen the ocean". straight spinnin.
murray's, ($2-$3) 4 brushes. what can i say? murrays is the original, and most popular (???) pomade. what i don't like about murrays is it's so effin thick! but you can't deny the holding power, and i also like the smell of murray's. plus, it's available everywhere and inexpensive.
tigi texturizing pomade ($8) 3.5 brushes. this is the sleeper that noone know about. this tigi ish is light. mad light. plus, when you put it in your hair, if feels like it's moisturizing. the biggest thing that hurts tigi is the holding power. yo ish don't be lookin as tight at the end of the day, and it's a pomade that when i use it and put the rag on, i don't brush when the rag comes off. i'm not big on mixin' pomades, but more on that later. the tigi smell is ok.
american crew pomade ($5-$8) 3 brushes. now, someone on here uses crew and they ish be spinnin. that person (i ain't bein subliminal on ya'll. i really don't know the name) may have hair different than mine. the crew pomade is light, and it will hold throughout the day. not tigi light, but it's light. the smell of the crew is ok. slightly better than tigi, not better than murrays. for me, crew didn't seem to do what i thought it would do.
nu nile ($2-$3). 5 brushes. what up chess??!!! i gotta shout out chess simply cause he always pluggin that nu nile, and now i know why. i got my nu nile waaaay after i started usin the others. nu nile smell is ok, but considerin how it works, i could care less. nu nile got the murrays type hold on your hair, but it's not near as thick. when i first used it, i thought it would be, but it wasn't. and my hands ain't feel all greasy when i was done. not gonna go on and on about nu nile. i'm just sayin, i'm now cosignin' on what others are sayin when they praise nu nile.
so, those are the four i tried. like i said, i got pics in that "change the game" thread of each. i'm tryin to support this wave movement the best i can. try some new thangs, pass on the knowledge. when the crew is done, i won't repurchase it. tigi is almost done. i may give it a shot usin tigi and lettin my hair sit under the rag for like 30-60 minutes, and then throw some light murrays on there and see what happens. mixin pomades just seems like too much work. if the tigi/murrays thing don't go well i still may get the tigi and just use it on one of them nights when i'm goin out, but won't have my hair exposed for more than like 4-5 hours. i won't get murrays again. too thick. movin forward, it'll be nu nile and tigi, or possibly just nu nile. i got 2-3 white people type pomades on the radar. when murrays, tigi and crew are done, i'll get those and give ya'll that report. i'm out.
