I do both of those things the opposite. Once established, wave patterns usually aren't going anywhere unless you cut them out. When I wash my hair I wash it crazy, and when I apply pomade or jel I do that crazy too to make sure it gets into my hair real good. 2-4 quick strokes of the brush usually gets em right back afterwards though.

Another good thing to do is just brush your hair in the shower with the shampoo in it. you wont have to worry about scrubbing your head and messing up your wave pattern..

use a seperate brush for that though.

Lol.. naww he mean rub the shampoo down on the sides and back and then run it forward on top. Don't go back and forth just one way.

i got a major tip fo yall wavers that i needs to be clarified. wenever applying wave products apply it in direction of wave pattern, when u wash ur hair wash in direction of wave pattern. brush in direction of wave pattern. when u get ur haircut get it cut wit the grain. a lot of wavers have trouble maintaining ther waves because they keep breakin ther wave patterns. if u can avoid breakin ur wave pattern ull notice better progress. holla back.
