The best color remover from clothes that I have ever used is Oxyclean. I tried it on my carpet in the salon to remove color drippings and it came completly up. It was amazing!!! I have tried everything I can get my hands on to remove it. SOOOOOO, I tried it on my clothes and WOW It took it out.
Some one told me today that non-acetone nail polish remover will get color off the skin. I have not tried it yet but I will let you know.
I am a professional Hairstylist/Haircolorist with 19 years experience. I have traveled all over the country for my advanced education. I am also a salon owner.:)........and I LOVE Redken!!!
I don't know, but I've read once that hair-spray would remove hair color from clothes. Please never try that, my shirt's ruined, it only spread the color.
A coat of Vaseline around the hairline will make hair color wipe away easily. I also use it on my ears and neck.
I tried the ashes too, and they never really worked well. Someone suggested I try a little bit of Comet powder on a wet sponge. That actually works splendidly, and it's not as harsh as one would think. Just rinse very well after using.
Actually Vaseline coats the skin well for this. I would cleans it off afterward and apply a moisturizer w/o petrolatum...or petroleum based ingredients botanically based oils are so much better.
In the mid Eighties, Hair color used to really stain, we looked for anything to remove color from our clients skin. My old boss even tried ashes for awhile...I don't think it worked very well.
It stands to reason that cuticle remover would work. But I would worry about skin reactions??? Cuticle remover is a skin softener. Technically it's a skin remover....Hmmm.
Color doesn't stain skin nearly as much as it used to. Just try putting a protective layer of moisturizing cream around the hairline before the color. This works well because it makes the skin less pourus.:)
I don't know about cuticle remover, but back in the bad old days when I coloured my hair, I used SeaBreeze antiseptic to get rid of pesky hair colour stains. HTH Gren
Geez, I just read that you can use cuticle remover to remove hair color stains from your hairline. Does anyone know if this is true? If so, what is a good brand to use?
