Also keep in mind that you may want to just dye the bleached green
spots with it. If you use a reddish dye on the undyed hair, that
hair will come out more reddish than the spots that had the green and
take longer to grow out. If they are just the few spots near
where he will get it trimmed off soon, even if they don't come out
matching exactly, they will at least be brown and his hair will be 1/2
inch longer in just 4 weeks so it can be trimmed off if it's not exact.

Sounds like you used an ash brown dye. Sometimes ash shades have a green base. Try a reddish brown semi-permanent over it. Red+Green=Brown. If you can only get dye from the drugstore, your choices are Natural Instincts or ColorSpa. See which one has a reddish-brown that's close to the same level as his hair. Don't go too red, unless he wants to be a redhead. If the redder ones really look too red, find one that says "golden" or "bronze" in the color name. Remember that because his hair is greenish, the color won't come out as golden or reddish as the picture.
If you live by a beauty supply store, you'll find a wider color selection of semi-permanents than at the drugstore.
Hi, I need some expert advice. My son had his short hair bleached just on the tips. He recently had it cut very short and this left some bleach "spots" where the bleach was unevenly applied. He came home and we tried to color over it with permanent light/med brown color. I am sure this wasn't the correct thing to do, but he was in a panick. His hair looked fine after rinsing and we thought we had avoided a hair emergency. However, after a few days, his hair is looking a little greenish. Kind of a weird color. Any suggestions other than it's just in time for St. Patrick's day? Thanks in advance for any help.
