If the red doesn't tone down to something you like after a few washes,
then you can apply an ash semi-permanent over it. The ash color
will cancel out the red and sould leave you with a neutral shade.
However, please do a strand test, in case it doesn't work in practice
like it should.
Thanks. I went today and got my hair cut. Just because I needed it not because of the color. My hairdresser and one of her customers where fawning over my hair color saying it was so very beautiful.. most people would die to have it..etc. Really?? I think it's yucky.
I guess they described it as light brown with a strawberry-blonde color going through it for highlights. I personally don't really care for it. I went and bought color expert hair color but have been struggling with bronchitis for the past week so coloring will have to wait.
BTW.. have a bad cut too. Imagine that. Bad color and bad cut both in two days? It's a good thing I wait on recoloring,eh? I will let you know how it goes.
Well, I'm not an expert but, it may be difficult to get back to light
brown after the red. You'll have to wait for the red to wash out before
your hair will lighten properly to a light brown, otherwise you will
still have alot of the red remaining. However, red is one of those
colors that doesn't like to stay in hair for very long and it may fade
quickly. I've heard of some people using Dawn dish soap in their hair
to help the color fade quickly. This I have never tried, but if you
did, be sure to condition very heavily afterwards. Just be careful with
all of the rapid color changing, going light to dark and back again may
be damaging your hair more than you think. Depending on how much red is
in your hair, you may be able to get a light brown color in, but it
probably won't be the color you want. Anyone else have any suggestions
for her? I wish you lots of luck. I know what your going through, I've
had the same colors in my hair. I hope everything works out for
you.
Hello everyone. I have been coloring my hair for years now. I have naturally med. brown hair. Three hair colors ago (about 4 months go) I went to a dark blonde which only brought my hair up to a very light brownish blondish color. The next color I did was more of a light golden brown (to bring it down). Then this past time I must have lost my mind because I chose light auburn brown.. now it looks way more red than I like. What can I do? I don't want to use ash colors as they make me look dead. But I don't like all the red casts. I would eventually like to end up with a light brown with some light highlights. Suggestions?? ASAP..please!
