I get mine from the health food store. I'll have to get the name for you when I get home. It is alot easier to take because I put a 1/2 tsp. in a cup of orange juice because it is very bitter. I like it better that the pills.

I get most of my vitamins from Walmart...Same ingredients as the others but cheaper.  However, some speciality vitamins / combos  can only be  found in health food or certain grocery and drug.

I stumbled across this on the web while perusing for information on vitamins and products for hair growth and health. I've seen a lot of these items mentioned on here as well as other forums for promoting and maintaining growth. Just gives a little more info on the how they actually work.....Long, but informative ...Just thought this may help someone along on their hair journey or give some of us more things to add to our already loooong regimen!

Nourish and Protect Hair and Scalp
By nourishing the scalp and hair we obtain overall hair health which translates into thicker, shinnier, stronger and more manageable hair.

The products below nourish the hair and scalp and keep them healthy. As always, many of this products serve more than one purpose. The information below will help you identify the additional benefits of each product.

1. Jojoba oil
Jojoba oil is an excellent product and an important component to the our hair loss halting strategy. It significantly nourishes the hair and scalp promoting their overall health. Its scalp cleaning properties have been well documented. In addition, promotes hair growth and has anti-aging properties. It:

  • Prevents follicle blockage by removing excess sebum and cholesterol from the scalp.
  • Has anti-oxidant properties which prevent free radical damage.
  • Condition and nourish the scalp and hair.

2. Aloe Vera
Nourishes the hair and scalp by moisturizing them. In addition, its anti-biotic properties keep the scalp healthy and free of bacteria and fungus which can lead to scalp and hair problems.
It also contains many of the products that seem to be effective in fighting hair loss. Like biotin, b-vitamins, zinc and even inositil. In addition the moisturizing qulities when applied to the scalp increase the blood circulation to the hair follicle. It:

  • Nourishes and moisturizes the hair and scalp.
  • Keeps scalp healthy thanks to its anti-biotic properties.
  • Promotes hair growth due to the many hair friendly vitamins it contains.
  • Increases blood circulation to the hair follicles.

3. Biotin
It is the best known supplement for the health and beauty of Hair, Skin and Nails. Also referred to as Vitamin H, this vitamin promotes hair growth, protects against dryness and is involved in the biosynthesis of unsaturated fats.

  • It is the best known supplement for the health and beauty of Hair, Skin and Nails.
  • Also referred to as Vitamin H, this vitamin promotes hair growth, protects against dryness and is involved in the biosynthesis of unsaturated fats.
  • Increases the elasticity of the hair's cortex preventing breakage. It also thickenss the actual hair cuticle providing a fuller appearance because of the increased diameter of the hair shaft.

4. Olive Oil
Olive oil has been used for many years in the prevention of hairloss. Since olive oil has the ability to reduce cholesterol, it is able to reduce its accumulation in the scalp. Since it reduces cholesterol it also inhibits the production of the enzyme 5 alpha reductase and therefore inhibits the production of DHT. Helps keep the scalp clean and healthy. Olive Oil improves scalp condition and adds shine and body to hair. It:

  • Has the ability to reduce cholesterol.
  • Inhibits the production of DHT
  • Improves scalp condition and add shine and body to the hair.

5. MSM
Methylsulfonylmethane (MSM) is a naturally occurring, organic sulfur-containing compound related to another sulfur-containing substance, DMSO (Dimethyl Sulfoxide). Though it is believed that MSM also relieves chronic headaches and back pain, it is the relief of arthritis pain as its biggest claim to fame. In theory, MSM reduces inflammation by increasing the effectiveness of cortisol, which is the body's own natural inflammation fighter.

MSM is necessary for collagen synthesis: skin, hair and nails. MSM helps keep the hair, skin, and nails healthy. It is also a free radical scavanger. Meaning that it protects against free radical damage. MSM is quickly gaining recognition as a supplement used for the treatment of allergies, boosting the immune system, aiding in the healing of scar tissue and promoting healthy joints. Recently, new evidence has been found that MSM makes hair grow faster.

  • Promotes faster hair growth.
  • Helps keep hair, skin and nails healthier.
