My hair had gotten really dry at the ends and so I started using Suave Professionals Humectant Shampoo and Conditioner. It is supposed to add moisture. I use a little of the conditioner as a leave in and it makes my hair soft and helps it hold in the moisture. (And it doesn`t cost a lot)

I`m a guy who has decided to grow his hair out. Once I started reading some messageboards I realized the damage I was doing to my short hair would have to stop in order to ensure decent long hair. I would describe my hair as dry, very thick, pretty coarse, and slightly wavy (if it gets to a few inches in length, it won`t stay precisely straight, but gets a gentle curve to it). After doing some reading, I have started using Aussie Moist Conditioner Daily. Also, weekly I`ve been using Aussie 3 minute miracle, Aussie Moist Shampoo, as well as the Conditioner. Finally, I`ve occasionally been using their Hair Insurance Product.

I can`t shampoo often because it is too drying on my hair and I end up looking like a fuzzball. The Hair Insurance product seemed helpful, but I`m reading now that the amodimethicone (silicone product) can ultimately cause damage, so I`ve decided to stop using that altogether. My hair is a couple inches long now, just long enough so that the ends tend to be much drier than the roots; the sebum doesn`t seem to making the full journey down the hair.

Okay, so I just have a few questions for you. Are there other products I should try for my hair? It can`t seem to get enough moisture. Is there a good leave in conditioner I can use that doesn`t have silicone in it like the Hair Insurance? I think I`ll be okay for now with the aussie products, but I`d like to keep experimenting with other options, and I know for sure I need a replacement leave in. I figured posting here would be best, care for long hair is the same for men too!

I`ve run into some suggestions to try using Tigi`s Bed Head Moisture Maniac Conditioner. Also, I`ve seen it suggested to use Baby shampoo, as it is not very harsh. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance for your assistance!
