Jenny - while its growing its au natural. its taking so long cause Im cutting off ALL the blonde, so I have to wait for an inch and a half of new growth, and unfortunatly that takes a little time.
and damnit, I can see the little bastard greys sneaking in.
haha anyways, I forgot how SOFT my natural hair is. Ive been taking good care of it like I did way back when before torturing it with bleach, and it feels like kitten fur.
(edit) amm - plan on getting any other colors in? becides clear and black I would be intrested in red, but I understand if not because of demand

Triple-snap, AMM! Those black shrinkies sound like the shizzle.
Kalika: I figured your hair was growing out and you were planning a new
install. Have you attempted to bleach or color since the last time, or
are you just letting it grow in au natural?
The mama black spool in which all baby black shrinkies come from came in this afternoon while I slept. My wonderful S.O. drove down and he picked it up for me so I could see it before I came into work tonight. I couldn't wait to snip a piece off and I fired up the heating wand.
Ladies with dark hair, you are going to squeal. Heck, I'm a blonde and even I'll probably switch to the black ones underneath.
The clear ones are good, don't get me wrong but this black tubing is so thin and flexible and shrinks so tight on a hair strand that it really is like a tiny grain of rice. It shrunk down solid with no give or spongey feel. The inner adhesive doesn't squirt out the ends but stays all the way inside with no seepage showing at the openings.
I handed the hair strand to the hubby and while smiling like the Cheshire Cat said, "here, try to get this off." He pulled and tugged and that little shrinkie would not budge.
Im eager to try the extra long ones myself. I can see myself using them for the bulk of the hair, and using the shorter ones closer to the hairlines. I got a couple months to go before I can put extensions back in however, the wait is killing me. (Ive taken up sewing to distract myself, lmao, and Im working on a killer dread wig)
For the standard length, AMM's come in at 100 for $6.99; 250 for
$14.99; and 400 for $19.99. For the extralong ones, it's 250 for $19.99.
Doc Locks' are 450 for $29.95 and 960 for $69.95 (why the price per
shrinkie goes up when you order a larger amount, I don't know--I assume
it's a simple error).
Kristin's are 250 for $32.99.
And International Wig's (which have no adhesive), are coming in at $7.99 per 100.
So AMM's are clearly the cheapest. The MB shrinks aren't all that much
more expensive that most of these other brands though, especially
considering it's a salon product.
AMMmmmm!!! wow, the cart is on!!! I think I love you too.
I've stalled my shrinkies install untill this weekend, I hope. But I finally got all my hair today. Now I just need to decide on either latex or silicone pretips. The pre-tip you sent me is a great example, thanks a million for that. You used latex to pretip right? (salon-pro/pro claim)

That's the difference between me and the rest of the world! Hapiness isn't good enough for me! I demand euphoria!

No wands. I'm not going to deal with China. Too many language
barriers and I just don't want to get in the extension biz. The only
reason I'm doing the shrinkies is because I don't want to pay the
prices everyone's asking and the only way to get it down to China
prices is to buy these huge @ss spools. May as well just pass along
the savings to everyone else while I'm at it.
I'm using the wand featured on Docs site and it works just as well on
my shrinkies as Docs. You can visually see it shrinking down right
when the wand starts touching the tubing.
I've seen the MB links and I was astounded by how thin they are.
Too bad he won't make them available to the public (AND MORE
AFFORABLE) because I would certainly like to try it. I'm thinking the
Docs wand would be WAY too hot on MB links but I'd have to test it
on the lowest setting and try it.
I may try one of those Hot Tools 2-in-1 Ceramic Flat Iron (1/2") and
test these shrinkies with it. It's 170 watts and I think it has multiple
heat settings with double-sided heat. It'd be nice to be able to
recommend something that is below $40.
I've "road tested" only my own head and I'm going on a week. The
ones that I applied perfectly, they're not budging. The ones that I
apparently didn't shrink all the way or have gotten too much
conditioner under, there is some slipping but not enough to where it's
pulling or threatening to come off. Application and technique differs
so users mileage will vary.
I've never worn MB links and I don't see how I could ever afford
having them put in to do a comparison. I'd love to say mine will last
all the way until the first maintenance but I think it's just safe and
honest to say - I simply don't know yet. With Docs links as an
example, some have stayed in 3 months until I removed them and
some slipped out the next day. People may very well experience the
exact same issues.
Do you know how hot the wand has to get to shrink it? I was just wondering if my MB trix stix iron would shrink them, since it couldn't shrink Doc's shrinkies.
Also, how many full heads have you 'road tested' and how long did they keep them in their hair?
If they do stay in for a full 12 weeks, on average how many shrinkies came out prematurely in that duration of wear?
Sorry so many questions, I just want to know how these will compare to the MB shrink links, because I don't have a problem switching if yours are better, but I need to be sure that they will perform as well as MB's do, since I install them on paying clients.

yeah, I've b een considering getting 3:1 in balck cause I couldn't find
it in reasonable quatities in clear. But now sonce you took care
of the bulk issue and the price is so much much lower.
ack I almost wish I weren't doing tie-ins next. But I really want my flame hair done right...
Yep. I set up the shipping so it's flat rate which means $0 - $1,000,000 is one flat rate shipping fee. Paypal will automatically add it on. The remover does not have to be shipped UPS ground.
Thank ya! Let's just take it right down to those China prices, shall we? And it's not the auto store garbage that falls right out of your hair.
For those who are used to Doc Locks, I'll be up front - these shrinkies are a touch firmer and have a slight cast to them which is because of more adhesive inside. They hold like a mofo and they do shrink clear.
HOWEVER - if you had problems with shrinkies in the past, these aren't the miracle fix because they work just the same and they're installed and removed exactly the same way. The difference being, they have more adhesive inside and they shrink down tighter and harder. With all my playing around, I'm certain the Doc ones, etc are 2:1 ratios and these shrinkies are 3:1.
Flat rate priority shipping (2-3 day delivery times) and nobody ever pays a penny over the cost it actually is to ship. Wee!
Any tips, recommends, suggestions, rants and raves, please drop me a note.
OK - AMM I know your site is not finished yet....but I just had to say (since I check it every day) I can't wait to order and I haven't even done my first install!! I am already addicted. Those prices are awesome. You ARE truly the shrinkie Queen
