Bigen Permanent Powder Hair Color. No peroxide or ammonia. I've used it for about 3 years...its kinda like a henna hair color, and the colors are really rich. I buy mine at Wal-mart or Sally's Beauty Supply.

I used Color Spa Moisture Actif and it did dry my hair just a little. I
only used it once and it was on un-permed, un-colored hair. I was
kicking myself after that because I'd just spent the previous 2 years
growing my colored hair out! However, the color did fade almost
immediately. I would have had to redo it every week and a half or two
weeks at the most to keep it looking at all exciting (because you can't
go very drastic in color changes with temporary dyes) and it would have
been a shade lighter on any given day. In the end it didn't seem worth
it to me. You might try it once and if it doesn't harm your hair at
all, you can keep on doing it, but you never have the same hair color
(or intensity, at least) any two days in a row and it certainly could
damage your hair with constant re-colorings.
I don't want to be a downer--just trying to help you save your hair as I've been down that road myself.

If you use it too many times (redyeing your length) and you have delicate hair, it might cause problems. If you touch up your roots and only redye when needed, there should be no problem. Usually it would be ok.

I was told by a friend of mine that semi permanent hair color (no amonia ./24 washes) is actually good for you hair. More specifically Loreal's Color Spa Moisture Actiff. I'm thinking about using this to go from brown to dark borwn??? Anyone have any feedback on this... thanks:) *nikki*
