well my hair is quite wavy when dried naturally, so i think i want body wave. i like the h&h website, and if i do order my own hair, i probably will get their cuticle wefts. thanks for the help.

That's understandable, but a lot of the Asian hair has been very processed and as such, doesn't really match the texture you'd think of as "Asian" anyway. I have very thin, straight, fine White-girl hair, and the Bohyme silky straight actually matches my own texture pretty darned well. Of course, I tend to like the thicker hair--like H&H cuticle--better for extensions, but that's just me.

Anyway, if you're really interested in getting Russian hair and don't mind the extra cost, you may want to ask SAS about it. She could probably direct you to some of the more reputable sellers; the problem is, with direct import, you'd have to buy in bulk, which wouldn't be practical and would just be too risky. Everyone seems to like the Extensions-Plus European hair, though, so that might be your best option.

Good luck! :)

Well, good luck with that, Kat. For genuine European (or Russian) hair, you can expect to pay thousands for it. Like I said, a lot of sellers and extensionists claim to have European hair, but very few actually do, and the costs are very high. :)

Now I don't even do HH but I'm curious.  Why won't you use asian/indian hair?

Kat: I'm not familiar with sampook, but maybe someone else here has some information. I don't know about the quality of the H&H I-tip hair either. I had a wonderful experience with their Cuticle wefts, but in general it seems that pretipped hair is never as good quality as the wefts, even within the same brands, which is why I would recommend buying wefts and tipping your own. I'm also not sure if the that I-Tip hair is Cuticle or not; if it's just the regular H&H hair, I wouldn't bother. Their Cuticle is great, but the standard and Italian mixes are nothing special; you'd be better off with Bohyme.

Sandy: I don't know about the longevity of all of the different Glamourhair wavy textures, but the French Refined seems to hold up well. Unfortunately, a lot of these brands lose their their wave quickly, depending on the specific texture you order (the loose waves, for example, never seem to hold up, regardless of the brand).

It's possible that the hair is from Asia; I don't know. But then again, about 95% of the HH on the market is from Asia, despite what many sellers say. The remaining 5% comes from India, with just a trace amount coming from Europe (or more accurately, Russia and Ukraine). I've worn about 10 human-hair brands at this point, and I've spent a good deal of money on it (I use synth now actually), but I think about 8 of those brands were Asian and 2 were Indian.

If you're looking for Indian or European, you might want to try Extensions-Plus.com; they've gotten really good reviews, and supposedly it's the real deal.

Yup, that was me.

The issue I had with sampook was that the photos she was using to
represent the hair she was selling were taken straight from the
Hairlocs site. It's one thing to use stock photos, it's quite another to
blatantly rip off client pictures from another site.

Once I see that, all credibility is gone.

It seems like I remember someone posting about sampook from ebay, maybe it was Amm?  CRS syndrome here....(Cant Remember S**T)

Po'peet. I have been using mostly bodywave for years, in many different brands and Ive never found one that actually kept the big loose wave after washing. IMO they all drop to pretty much straight after washing (with maybe a hint of a wave) The only real benefit of bodywave over straight is that it will take and hold curl much more than 'straight' extension hair.

I am brand new to extensions and doing a lot of research before trying them. I was told (PLEASE correct me if this is wrong) That the Remi hair that Glamour Hair sells is Asian and the body waves wash out the first time you wet it. Can anyone answer this for me?

Well, first off, I'm not all that impressed by the Sexy hair site. I've never heard of them before, and their selection is a bit limited. When they show the weft in that photo, it has that standard "100% human hair" label on it, which I've seen on every run-of-the-mill Asian hair I've ever bought. This doesn't mean the hair's bad, but my guess is, there's nothing "Remi" or particularly special about it. And the price for 18" is nothing to write home about either.

If I were you, I'd go with some of the more tried-and-tested sellers: Bohyme (available at ebonyline.com), Extensions Plus (available at extensions-plus.com), Glamourhair's Remi (available at glamourhair.com), or His and Her Cuticle Hair (available at hisandher.com). In my mind, these are the human-hair "big four"--the reputable brands that have consistently received the best reviews. What's best for you among those four really depends on the specific color, length, texture, and price you're looking for.

Of course, there are also sites that sell relatively unprocessed Indian hair, like Nature Girl, Indianhairs, and Bliss, but given your hair type and your blonde color, they wouldn't make much sense for you, imo.

:)

k..i'm telling you...if you have ANY body to your hair....HH silky straight is a PITA to curl on a daily basis.

if i let my hair dry naturally, i have curves...not curls, but it's not stick straight.

so my natural hair is poking out of my silky straight when it's air dried!

ughhh....had i known, i'd have tried for a little bit of body, but all i could find before the board was these deep afro type perms.
has someone been swimming in the shallow end of the gene pool again?
