Hippyhair: I don't think pinchbraids are done as tightly as weaves (since they're not being cornrowed tight to the head, but braided downward). You should have some mild discomfort (not pain, though) for a day or two, but they loosen up really quickly. All extensions feel a little weird for a first-time wearer, imo, but you get used to it. :)

I always have trouble getting comfotable laying down the first few nights til they lossen up a bit.  But I don't have bald spots or hair thatlooks pulled out or broken.  this is with braids, rings, and shrinkies.  I've never had a weave though...

Ok, maybe I used the term *killing me* a little too loosely! It's not unbearable, just tight. Thanks!

my last weave hurt like anything, i had to take ibuprofen too. i think dif people also have dif pain thresholds, too. for instance, it hurts for me to brush my hair. without extensions. without color.

my pinchbraids hurt SOMETIMES. (on the first night i take ibuprofen SOMETIMES)

i love plastikhaar

purrmachine thats what i mean

i've had them done before, and recently i had one done by weaveitup ( whoes really lovely might i add) but the sides were just too tight and i could feel it pulling :(  I had to take them out anyway because the hair i was using was crap, but the bits that were hurting were hurting for 3 days :S

it should feel, at most, a bit achey, not painful at all.

Feeling some tension is normal, but it should not be so tight as to cause pain, which sounds like that's the case - "But WOW! is my head killin me! "

Not to scare you, but the last time I had a weave and thought my head was killng me, I ended up with permanent bald spots.  Now I wear pinchbraids and while there is a little bit of tightness, there is no pain and I haven't had any problems.  A weave should feel the same way.

No, I think that weaves always feel tight for the first few days.

I got a weave for 5 years and it was always very tight and not comfortable for a few days.  I wanted it kind of tight, it lasts longer!

Hey all.. just got my extensions last night! It looks really good and I'm very happy with the results. I have Bohyme, 18", silky straight in 613 - just one pack. I was worried about it being enough, but now I'm thinkin this is plenty of hair for me.  I'm amazed how well the color blends with my own hair... I only had a color wheel online to make my decision!

But WOW! is my head killin me!  These things are tight! I know it'll get better though...

Don't plan on washing until at least tomorrow and not looking forward to it. I'm afraid of messing anything up! But I can't keep treating my head like it's made of glass now can I?

Just wanted to share my joy!
