Uggghh...now that *is* tragic. It's too bad; it was such a gorgeous install. :)

Here's the pic the day I took it out. It's tragic. You can't even get your fingers to untangle it. She never used a blow dryer or curling iron on it. Her real hair underneath was perfectly fine and zero damage.

I feel a little better after reading about the wawa bodywave--Mine looked like dreads after washing it the first time (air dried) and I was bummed & wondering what I'd done wrong...

How are you gals 'steaming' it?  thanks!

Oh no!  Does the regular straight WaWa stay nice? I was about to order some, but not if it gets crappy!

Jenny - Hard to tell. I've had by PH in for NINE weeks. I can say this tho: the WaWa bodywave ends fried in ONE DAY, and I still have some PH that looks pretty damn good even after everything I've subjected it to. . .

I've come to the conclusion that MIXING SYNTHS is a BAD idea. I took pics this morning of my hair after trying to get it past train-wreck to minor catastrophe stage. It took me an HOUR to get it to where I did, and, well you can judge for yourself. (I'll post the pics later). If you're gonna do shrinkies for the areas not covered by pinchbraids, do them with PH, or HH if you *must*.

Really? This surprises me. I don't think synth--monofiber, like PH and Dome--is as soft and silky after you've worn it for a while as most human hair (although it has many other advantages), but I wouldn't describe it as rough either. And it always gets supersilky after blow-drying or steaming. I feel like the WaWa (at least the bodywave) is thicker and coarser to begin with; I wonder if that's what the problem is.

Fina: You're wearing both. Do you think the WaWa bodywave gets rougher than the PH?  :)

My wa wa body wave felt like a brillo pad within 3 days of wearing it.  Steaming  it is a pain in the butt, however it does recondition it again nicely.

I'm having the same experience with the WaWa Body Wave; I thought it was because of my over-zealousness with the blow dryer.  It's so strange. But I guess it's just "for no apparent reason". Bummer!!

Hmm...that's too bad. How long would you say the initial wave stays wearable for, before you need to steam/recurl? :)

I agree, the WA WA bodywave gets fried and frizzy looking in just a few days.  I steam it straight and recurl with hot rollers every 3-4 days.

She's had them in for about a week or a little over now and the new
shrinkies are holding up well. She's only lost one.

She had a headache for two days and her head was tender. This is
the first time she's ever had extensions in and although I told her to
pop some pain reliever, she was surprised that it actually was
uncomfortable. She thought I was joking about that.

The WaWa bodywave's ends are a huge disappointment. She said it
feels like sisal rope when it lays across her bare back and when it
sweeps forward and is against her neck. I haven't seen her since the
install but she said they look real dry, fried and crumbly. She has not
curled or blown her hair out once. She lets the hair air dry and still
has had this rapid deterioration of the ends. Bummer, huh?

She loves the pink colors I put in on the sides and gets lots of
compliments on them and she'd like those back in when its time. She
just doesn't want to do a repeat of so many extensions and certainly
not with the WaWa bodywave.

So, thumbs down on WaWa bodywave over here.
