Well, I was using B&B Honey and Mayo on my scalp, but it seems like in 2 usages, the jar is empty. Sooo, I'm doing an experiment to see how my scalp holds up without anything on it and whether or not my hair continues to grow. I'll know for sure by next month whether or not this is working.
With the sulfur 8 have you noticed faster hair growth? Same with the WGHO? I use WGHO but sparingly. I was wondering if someone might have worthy results from it. If anything, I like the way it makes my hair feel. I wonder if I can mix an essential oil in to combat the smell though!!
I like WGHO because it makes my scalp feel supple and my hair soft. Sulfur 8 definitely makes my hair grow faster. So does Glover's.

Hey Jewell, I've heard that Sulfur is great for the scalp and stimulates hair growth. It's too thick for me and I don't use it for other unrelated reasons but it works for growth. Has anyone seen the new SULFUR line of products? I think it's at Chatham Beauty Supply. I know it's on the website: http://www.chathambeauty.com (I think this is the correct link!)
I just used WGHO on my scalp for the first time (well not the first, my mom use to use it on us when we were little and it only cost $3 then!!) I liked it alot. It smelles alot like wok oil to me, which doesn't bother me much. THe ingredient in it start's with an "I" (inositol??) is what helps your hair grow is what I read on another board.

i actually do still grease my scalp...but i use a mix i buy of shea butter and various oils (olive, sandlewood, etc) and it seems to work for me....
i have dry scalp...so if i dont put something on it after i wash, within an hour or two it'll start itching...i'm curiuos as to how some of you all are able to not grease at all...i wish i could do it, because i have read about it clogging pores, but i feel like i dont really have a choice in the matter.
i may have to look into that flaxseed oil, is that what most use or are there other types that ppl take orally that promotes oil production on the scalp? also, is it isolated to the scalp or will it make all of my skin oily? i already have oily skin on my face, so i really dont want to up the oil production there at all....
The flaxseed oil has increased the oil production on my face. I now have to wash my face twice a day, instead of using just make-up remover and astringent at night.

my bad...use the term 'grease' but i use the shea butter with oil combo i mention above...force of habit...
i was really commenting on those that were able to not put anything on there hair...i wish i could, but i'd be right back to scratching like i had two-month old braids

Every time I used grease it would make my head itch more...I haven't used actual grease in a year and a half and my scalp is doing alot better. As I said before, If it is itching badly which is rare, I just take an applicator bottle and mix water and oil and use it as a shampoo on my scalp. That calmed it down.
I tried softee coconut grease a few weeks ago, I use to love it cause of the scent. It made my head itch like crazy and feel sticky and gooky, so I had to wash my hair all over again and it was it took a long time to get my normal feeling back.

I don't use anything directly on my scalp. When it gets dry- it is usually time for me to do a wash anyway--so that cures it most of the time. If not, I'll do a scalp massage after I do my moisturizer and that usually deposits some on the dry areas . . . as far as actively apply something to the scalp--nope!
Actually, my mom and I went to Sally's today and when I picked up the bottle she told me she use to use it in me and my sisters' hair all the time when we were younger. I didn't know but we always got compliments on how thick and long our hair was. Needless to say, she bought another bottle!!
