Well, I broke down and bought the Pantene expressions shampoo and conditioner for dark blonde hair.

It's nothing spectacular, but it did make my highlights a lot brighter and fresher looking. It also made my hair nice and frizz-free. This is just after one use, so I'll make sure to keep updating so I can share the long term effects.

I tried the "Red Expressions" (or whatever it's called?) Pantene shampoo, as I have coppery orange hair, and it really didn't seem to do much at all. My hair didn't seem any brighter or redder after a week or two of use.

From what I can tell, it doesn't really deposit color--it just claims to "remove impurities that dull your natural vibrance" or something. I found the fragrance to be quite overpowering, and it felt really harsh. It also seemed a bit overpriced for what it was.

If adding color or a color enhancing shampoo is what you're after, you might try a color depositing conditioner instead.  Whatever is in a shampoo will be rinsed down the drain, where a conditioner will stick to the cuticle of your hair even after rinsing.  I use Matrix Biolage Earth tones color depositing conditioner in Red.  It keeps my red (when I had it) looking great, and even though I'm more of a brown/auburn now, I still use it to bring the red out.

They carry all colors, blonde, brown, copper, reds.  You can find them in salons or beauty stores.  It conditions really well too.

Thanks for the info! Maybe i'll just use the pantene conditioners instead of the shampoos. Would using just the colour expressions conditioner have a similar effect on my hair if i didnt use the shampoo?

I'll probably either purchase the conditioner, or the shampoo and conditioner after I finish my current shampoo. I'm currently using Joico Silk Result. I got the shampoo and conditioner for xmas and they are huge 1 litre bottles! I'm a little more than half through them.

I'll let you all know how the expressions work!

I don't use Pantene shampoos because they contain a drying and irritating ingredient called ammonium xylensulfonate.  I haven't looked to see if the color depositing shampoos have this ingredient though.  Everything else in the Pantene line from conditioners to styling products are very good though.

Let us know how they work if you decide to use them!

I dont know if they work or not, but my blonde sister's favorite shampoo for blondes is made by jhirmack.  She says it really brought out her (and her daughter's) natural highlights and got rid of an orangish tint that she had in her hair from her water.

Has anyone tried Pantene Expressions? It's a new line of colour enhancing shampoos.

I am blonde, and curious about it. I have had awesome results with Pantene's Smooth and Silk.. so I may try these..

Any opinions on it?
