Dye doesn't cover dye.
You'll have to remove the dye before you can get it light again. The product usually recommended is Colorfix, which you can get at Sally Beauty. You would need to do a strand test to make sure your hair can tolerate it. You'll need probably a couple of boxes of Colorfix to do it, and then you'll need to color your hair to its natural color based on the shade you've been able to reach using the Colorfix.
It could be tricky. Have you considered a salon? They might be able to put some highlights in your colored sections that will minimize the color difference between your virgin hair and your dyed color.
Just looking for a few good hair slaves - is that too much to ask?
Hi,my hair is naturally a dirty blonde.I have been dying it dark brown this last year. But now I want to go back to my natural color. How can I do this?Do I have to wait for it to grow out???My hair is waist length...or can I buy a dark blonde color...like I did when I dyed it brown???
