first install - shrinkies/synth

Hmm, so we blew it out the other night ...and the upper part smoothed out nice and all ...but the bottom 3-4" are still fried.

I think I've figured it out tho.  Here in the villages (where it is *extremely* dusty from the dirt roads and all) they've been spraying the roads with an assortment of chemicals (and i'm still trying to find out exactly what it is :P) to keep the dust "down" ...but it doesn't really work, it's hella dusty anyway.  So, with all her zooming around on her 4-wheelers and such (w/out pulling her hair back), I'm thinking the chemicals funked up her poor haar .

Oh well! I'll trim it up a bit tomorrow, and I was thinking about ordering some of that lovely EP Softwear Hair for the next install anyhow.  

Beautiful hair install   I love your sister's natural hair because it looks so shiny and healthy.  Sorry it is not working out for you guys because her hair looks so beautiful.

Mane&Tail make a synth spray? I didn't know that. My favorite products for the PH are Beyond the Zone Flasher spray and the Dome Care spray.

Has she (or you) blown it out at all? That makes a big difference in the feel, and should be done every 2-4 weeks. Synth doesn't really "dry out" since it's not porous, so I'm guessing that what's happening is that the ends have gotten frizzy and in need of smoothing out with a blowdryer. might want to at least try that out. Everyday wasn't isn't optimal for the haar, but afaik it's not really bad for it either- so try the blowing out, and the Dome or Flasher spray, before taking it out just to be sure. :)

Looks great.  I'm impressed with seven hours total time also.
And I love the colors.  How did you hadle the layering with the hair already on her head?  Di dyou just cut as if it wass HH?  Looks really good and I could use the trick so i don't have to layer before installing.


I'm putting in wefts for the first time right now.  how did you install those?  Her only ocmplaint was a heat/sweat issue?

Aeone--it's great to see you again! Your sister's haar looks absolutely amazing; you've done a wonderful job, and I agree that 7 hours is damned good time. It's so full and lush. Does she love it, or what? :)

Hi Ladies!

Just thought I'd share my first full-install with shrinkies (dr.locks) and synth (plastikhaar!).  I've been experimenting with both of them on myself for quite some time, but due to hair loss issues, I have never been able to wear a full head of them successfully.  Soo ...I did it on my guinea pig instead (my sister, ofc  ..hehe).

I used 3 packs - mocca, muskat and dinkel (each cut in 1/2). I also had to go very high up on the head (you can see some of the shrinkie bonds peeping out - but she doesn't care if anyone see's them ::whew::) and layer the heck out of it (after I installed it), because she has very thick, chin-length hair - she was rocking a major mullet before added the visible shrinks   ..I'd say I went less than a 1/2" away from the part lines. It also took a grand total of 7 hours from pretipping (I used Amm's Aleene quick-dry glue suggestion - Thanks!!! It worked absolutely great!!!) to the final cut/layering.

I experimented with liquid gold bonding on her a couple months ago ..I think I'm preferring how the wefts look to the single-strands for now, at least until she grows her hair out a couple more inches ...oh the horror of a mullet!  hehehe :)  But, we'll see how this combo holds up for her for now.
