Yes they look the same from what I could seesize is hard to tell but SL's are the same size as euro and hair locks but no green. They are faster and great for fun colors.
I have a need for them so I will probably buy some off you, T.
marie, do the SL links look like the dinkie links?
My neice likes strand fun colors. She lives about an hour away and I want her to have the ease of opening the links on her own since I'm not that close. So I'm testing them for green and damage. I would never open these for maintenence. Bending the lock would compromise the color coating and then the copper may be exposed. I feel once they're opened -- that's it -- they need to be replaced.
They haven't slipped in my hair at all and I wonder if it's cuz I'm wearing synth.
I want to know is there a diference in these and short to long or hairpeices new ones. They all seem to chip but I have to say that I have never had green hair with the ones from short to long like I did with euro. They also are easy to close, thiner than micro links. I pay 20.00 for 100 at SL
the dinkie links are the same ones i got from overseas that in fact you Amm found the place to get them. A real long time ago you posted a link to a place to get them, i went ahead and bought 7 jars of 1,000 each color for like $115 PER jar-
i have used some of them, however- as you said they went in very very well and removal is easy- howver the do SLIP on fine hair- they stay well in my hair for some reason.- some women i had to switch out with the hairloc shells. i do have some if anyone wants to buy them. i will sell for same amount i paid. i will include shipping. i have blonde, black, red(burgendy) and light brown and dark brown.
There was a thread started on May 6 that talked about Dinkie Links
and I just wanted to follow up on it.
I installed about 10 of the dinkie links in that have been going for a
test drive. They came from hairextensiontools.com (who provided a free sample -- THANK YOU to them!
The good news...
The application is awesome. They squeeze down much much better
than microrings and extentubes. Matter of fact, there is little effort at
all in getting them flat. I installed with pliers without ridged jaws so
they are completely flat on the inside/outside.
The diameter is a bit smaller than a shrinkie and about the same size
as a size L extentube but they lay as flat and undetectable as size
XS. Even a good sized strand fit in with no problem at all.
Comfort is awesome. They are so flat, they're almost not even there.
They're completely undetectable in my hair and I do not feel them at
all.
Removal is 100% better than extentubes and a special tool is not
needed to reopen them successfully. I was able to open each one
with ease and none doubled over on me. I have never been able to
get extentubes out of my own head without help. And the ones I do
try, I ended up doubling the tube and chewing off my own hair in the
process.
The bad news...
Over 10 cents per link. A bit pricey compared to shrinkies or
extentubes.
They're made of copper. On removal, the paint chipped on the
outside and there is that shiny copper base staring back at me.
Horror! I had a flashback of my Hairlocs days when a good portion of
my hair was lost from copper erosion eating at my hair.
The I Don't Know What To Think news...
Damn, these look and feel just like Hairlocs shells. When removed,
the same flaking of color on the outside falls off in specks exactly the
same way.
There is allegedly a protective coating on these that protects the hair
from copper damage. I personally do not see it as the color of the
dinkie links can be scraped off with just a fingernail.
I left 5 in right up front where I can really get a good look straight on
once I remove them. I will wear them for the long haul and test for
green hair and damage. I won't be doing any cider rinses to
"neutralize" or anything because I want to test the links straight out.
