Have you tried resizing the image in an image program, and/or changing the image type?  Reducing the depth can sometimes help, too, but I don't like to do that, 'cause sometimes it makes images look weird.

How do I make an image file size smaller so that I can upload a picture? When I try to upload a picture, a pop-up pops up and says that the image is too large. Sorry that this is off-topic.
