For next time you want to be Marilyn, you probably will have to process it either a few times - or bleach it, then dye it or tone it to get the right  color. We all go through the orange, then the yellow before the final dye that gives the right color, so there's no "Marilyn in a single bottle"!

I'm glad you got it fixed and are happy!

Hi to all, I'm new here as I found this forum last night in a frenzy - I was typing 'bleach gone bad' and 'please help my hair' into Google.

I used Smart Colour Ultimate Blonde (evil evil stuff) to turn my light golden brown hair into what I hoped would be a Marilyn Monroe style blonde. What I got was orange/yellow/brown/horribly fried mess atop my head and many tears. I read some messages on here suggesting the best thing to do was go to a salon but I don't have that sort of cash at the moment.

In comes - Garnier Nutrisse! Now I only bleached my hair once so the damage was limited to that - I don't know how it would come out on hair that was bleached anymore than that. Also my hair was in a decent condition, I hadn't dyed it for several months prior to this. But I've found that Garnier has turned that orange mess into a reddish dark brown with perhaps only a slight hint of orange - and I can live with that more than I can 'Billy Idol on a bad day' hair.

I left the dye on for the maximum time, which was 35 mins. I just thought I'd let people know that this has worked well for me! Thankyou Garnier!
