Let it grow a couple more weeks, and keep brushing and doing what your doing. And since your having trouble keeping you hair down, try to buy this stuff called spartan wave creame, that stuff holds your waves down real good and it gives your hair a nice shine.

thas mah hair and ive been usin some k7 moisturizer,a medium brushm and i mix sportin waves black can n scurl 360, n i use jam. ive been doin this for 2 weeks now when my hair was shorter it layed down but now its grown a lil and its gotten hard to lay down so should i get a cut or grow it out some more then cut it cause i heard if i do that mah waves will look better
