That's interesting. I do like that loose deep wave.

I've also located some interesting hair as well out of China. It's
synthetic fiber that comes in the same wave patterns as PH and the
company can do custom blending, etc.

I have test bundles here with 3 different processes done over the
raw strands. I have to say these are almost if not exactly the same
as PH and ProHair and they're three of the most beautiful auburns
I've seen. They are slightly off from the PH color ring but the amount
of colors it comes in is more like ProHair. It's in a 40" doubled over
bundle but I think length is something negotiable as well.

At some point some feedback from a PH veteran will be needed. This
is the first synth I've gotten from overseas where I cannot distinguish
it from either PH or ProHair.

Here are the images & info I could find. It doesn't look very long on this woman, but I am 6' and even fully folded in hangs much longer.

Well, I received this hair and I must say that it looks and feels exactly like Plastikhaar.  I ordered the loose deep wave and if only they had the colors of PH, I would be in heaven.  This stuff is very nice and other than my dissatisfaction with their 27 being a medium ashy blonde(I was hoping for Strawberry) I have washed it and let it air dry and that gorgeous wave comes right back.  I have finger combed, picked and even brushed to see how it blends and it is gorgeous. Even though it says not to use heat, I had to try the flocked rollers, and yes, it curls with them.  It altered the original wave the hair had(of course) but as soon as I washed it and let it redry the original wave came right back!

It is only $9.99 a bag and has many different textures and the colors are pretty standard.  The good news however it that it isn't truly limited to the 18" length.  It  comes in what they call "fully folded", banded, and wrapped in a hairnet.  So when unfolded it is a full 37 1/2 and the slight crimp from the "folding" blends right back in with the waves if you leave it hanging unfolded overnight. They didn't have the colors I wanted, so I got a 4/27 blend and a 22/27 blend.  Their 22 looks like a standard 613 so I decided to just blend some of the 4/27 and it came up to a decent #6, needs a tad more red though for my blending.

I wish I could take pics, but no camera.

For anyone looking for a decent US synth that has the feel of Plastikhaar, I do suggest picking some up at that price.

p.s. the cheapie hair well, it's exactly that $5 hair on sale for .99. It looks like it would be good for full braids or maybe dreads, or a weekend ponytail possibly, but I wouldn't recommend for loose extensions.

Hmm it doesn't seem like very great hair? You can't use any heat on it at all?  Meaning how would you style the nayural hair on your head to match?

I know that Batik is a type of material or a type of dying method for a certain type of material.  I did a Google search and that was the info I could get.  Couldn't find anything out about this hair though.  I'm ordering some just to see what it's like.  I just wasn't fond of the color choices I made with PlastikHaar and took it all out.  Oh well, we live and learn right .

Also I ordered some of that Surge Plus 14 Revitalizer, it has gotten very good reviews elsewhere for assisting in hair growth, protection, and glosser.

If anyone is interested I will keep you all posted about the hair once I receive it.

p.s. they have some super duper cheap .49 and .99 cent hair, might be fun to play with.

edit:found this info after I had originally posted this.

It would be impossible to visit or live in Indonesia and not be exposed to one of the country's most highly developed art forms, batik. On your first visit to a batik store or factory you will undoubtedly experience an overwhelming stimulation of the senses - due to the many colors, patterns and the actual smell of batik. Only through repeated visits and a bit of study will the types of designs and their origins become apparent.

The word batik is thought to be derived from the word 'ambatik' which translated means 'a cloth with little dots'. The suffix 'tik' means little dot, drop, point or to make dots. Batik may also originate from the Javanese word 'tritik' which describes a resist process for dying where the patterns are reserved on the textiles by tying and sewing areas prior to dying, similar to tie dye techniques. Another Javanese phase for the mystical experience of making batik is “mbatik manah” which means “drawing a batik design on the heart”.
