Yes, ITA: Normal shedding is 50-100 hairs a day. I usually shed about 30-50 after a wash, but on a normal day I only see hair fall of 5-10 strands.

I'm not experiencing an unusual amount of shedding right now. I'd guess anywhere from 10-15 hairs a day. My shedding has actually decreased from a few weeks ago. We'd taken a trip to Florida and during the trip I flat-ironed my hair everyday for about a week!( I know-terrible) I noticed a lot more shedding once back home, but I did a mild protein treatment, xtra moisturizing and have being doing protective styles since to get it back on track.

Yeah, I just have strands with the white bulb at the end. Today I lost maybe 10 hairs. I have it in a braid-out. This week though, although I'm only 9 weeks post and would love to stretch alot longer, my art show is next weekend and I need to get it done. Thanks you guys (ladies)!

I have experienced shedding and for some reason I think my hair is getting stronger. Recently when I comb my hair there's no shedding at all. But when I shampoo my hair that's when I get more shedding, at least 30-40 strands. But I noticed that if u wash your hair in a downwards rhythm instead of soaping it all over your head, u lose less strands, therefore preventing a lot of shedding and/or breakage.

it might be your shedding period. so dont panic....as long as you dont see those tiny hairs without white bulbs. and oh, using a garlic conditioner helps with more than normal shedding. you can crush some garlic and mix with your conditioner when you start freaking out. LOL

Thanks you guys. I normally lose between 20-25 a day but lately it's been more. It's not breakage though, it's shedding. I can gently run my fingers down the length of my hair and get 4 strands at once. I started freaking out not knowing what was going on but I live in the Midwest and for the past 2 weeks or maybe more, we've had unusual heat in the 90s and 100s. I think everything has been shedding.

Normal shedding is only referring to hairs shed with the bulbs intact, not to breakage.

I think I notice losing 10-15 hairs a day. I'm wondering where all the hair I rake up off the carpet comes from, though...

If you live in a climate that has hot and cold seasons, you probably will notice weeks when you seem to be shedding like crazy, and other times when you seem to be shedding not at all.

Just looking for a few good hair slaves - is that too much to ask?

i usually lose a whole strand and during washing/deatngling, i normally dont lose more than maybe 10 shed hairs and i dont remember the last time ive seen broken hairs. shedding is usually longer hair strands and breakage is when you get the tiny hairs. and with shedding, there's usually a bulb at the end of the hair. i know a few people that shed more during winter, summer, when under stress. so it depends. no, i dont lose about 100 a day so i guess thats good

I've heard you lose about 100 hairs a days ( up tp 300 for washing and detangling). How much would you say you shed in a day? Is it the whole strand or breakage of a few? Is there a normal shedding period? (I know it sounds silly but dogs shed in the warmer months. I wondered if it was the same for us?)
