I have strand by strand fusion throughout the entire head and the headband with a small weft of hair is temp just to help my short hair blend with the ext hair in back.  I have been playing around with extensions for a few years now.  And no I have not noticed any sig growth.  I am still at the same length as I was when I started getting ext, only my hair is a little thinnernow.  I haven't made any headway at all.  I think I am damaging my own hair by wearing such long ext hair all the time, or maybe because I am rough on it, or maybe I am  doing the exts wrong.  Not sure.  But I want to get my own hair to grow out.

Hi Halo!  I think it loooks great!  & I like the head band trick!  How long have you been wearing extentions & have you noticed a lot of growth?  You said your hair is only 2-6 inches long, is this because of past fusion installs?

My reply to this got eaten yesterday.

I was going to say that usually i think of head bands as being one of the give aways.  So many people use them to cover up 3/4 wigs etc.

I'm a little cofused about exactly what you have done (what's attached to your head permanently vs what's on the headband) but aside from the side shot you know about.  It looks good.  I'm sure with some practice/adjustment you'll get your styoing right so that you won't have the short sides peeking out again.

no that looks really good.i looked at the pictures first. trying to figure out what method if any you were wearing. Then I read the top about the headband, lol.Looks great.I especially love the pictures where you curled your hair.Plus great thinking with the headband.I'd steal this idea if it werent for the fact that headbands did horrible into the backs of my ears, lol.

I have hair that's about 2 inches long in some spots and 6 inches at the longest.  I have had plenty of trouble hiding the dead zone where my hair and the longer extension hair are supposed to blend.  The dead zone is in the back on top of my head up by my paininthebutt colic where no amount of skillfull extension placement seems to help much. Layer cuts help, but I didn't have a good cut and needed a quick answer.  So I made a cool headband by glueing a few inches of weft hair onto a thick headband right at the middle and it hid the dead zone pretty well.  That is... when my hair was curled with a good shine spray.

Here are some pics.  The extensions are his and her human hair french bodywave in 18 and 22 inches long, blended colors 18 22 27 and 613.

I have the ends curled in this pic with only a few layers cut in a hurry.

front same night

again same night

same night - you can see the layers are short in front

looks longer than it is because I'm bending over

same night different angle

This pic is after a day of swimming in salt water and I didn't have time to style it.  I washed and blow dried it and that was it.  It looks strandy at the ends but the dead zone blended pretty well thanks to the headband. BUT.....

look how stringy it looks here with chunks of my own hair showing through.  I didn't go high enough with the extensions.  It also showed me how important it is to flat iron it with a shine spray and curl it if I want it to look nice.  Or else it ends up looking like ziieeees.

Blechhhhhhhhh.  VERY Bad Hair Moment.
