The point of the method is for those who are trying to grow their hair for extended periods but also want to maintain control of their hair. I do it some times because I'm lazy and I will only have to moisturize my hair once a week. If you use a petroleum based thick hair grease or pomade like blue magic or nu nile after your hair is 3-4 weeks long it will lie flatter and look less frizzy. The excess will come out a bit but what is left acts like a glue and keeps your hair in place. Others use light pomades and gels to create a wet look for their hair.
You completely saturated your hair with a pomade, gel, or hair grease and then brush you hair while in the shower. You hair will be white if you use a petroleum based product, but throw on your durag/ wave cap and wait for it to dry. When you take it off you will have achieved a "wet look."
**DISCLAIMER**
Your hair will look white when you get out of the shower...don't panic!
If you use a black durag and have a white pillow/case cover it.
If you do this with a pomade wait a day before you consider doing it again.
