VERY sorry about your regets, Trim! Enjoy what you now have, and never give up. My wife grew out from her shoulder tops to her hips *after* age 40. It took 3 1/2 years with only 5" trimmed during that time. Stay away from scissors, and you *will* achieve all your goals. And, keep a picture or other reminder so you don't acquiesce during difficult moments in the future. Hugs, Bob

Hi Trim,

I'm sorry you feel regret for your cut. We've all been there before.

Where to begin? Well, sadly, there is no 'hurry up and grow it'

formula out there that is valid. In brief, length takes time and

often includes lessons along the way. While you can collect basic

tips from others, a large bit of your growing period will have to

include a routine that fits your hair type. As an example, Elyce

(Hi Elyce, nice to meet you!)

acquired a tip never to use products with cones, yet if I could

not use them, I would not have long hair. Each head of hair

differs in it's tolerance of product use. If you could give us a

better idea of what your hair type is, we could offer suggestions

which may fit your hair a bit better.

Though hair growth varies person to person, many women

assign themselves to what has become known as the

"Five Year Plan". Basically, you take into consideration the fact

that it will take some time to have what you hope for. A large

number of women realize that five years is a good time period

to allow for such. This also helps you to do other things along the

way rather than focus on your hair length all the time. A new

hobby, a job, family, etc.

Let us know more about your hair, and we will certainly

try to assist.

Birds of a feather flock together & then crap on your car.

Hi Trim, Really sorry about your cut, most of us have had regrettable haircuts and can relate.

Here are some hair care tips someone posted here a few months ago, not mine, but I was smart enough to copy them down, hope they help you ~

healthy hair/growth tips:

-drink lots of water and stay away from carbonated drinks
-don’t stress
-use wide toothed combs and try not to comb too much
-do not use shampoos with cones or laurel/laureth sulfates
-do not use hot water, flat irons, hair dryers, etc.
-Take a multi vitamin or a hair growth pill
-Stay active and stay healthy!

I can only add, keep up with this forum, the advice and ideas here are great!  And keep thinking *patience* -- it takes a while but is worth it.  Some get tired of waiting and cut again, then are even more sorry.

I take Natrol Hair, Skin, & Nails multivitamins, they are easier to swallow, I haven't been taking them long enough to know if they really help, but I do swear by vitamins in general, I feel healthier and happier when I take vitamins.

Good luck and welcome to the forum!  Keep us posted on your progress.

Save your money. None of these products is going to make very much difference.

Just looking for a few good hair slaves - is that too much to ask?

I just cut my hair about 2 months ago from mid-back into a chin length bob.  I am totally sick over the decision and I want to grow it back out as quickly as possible.  There are many products that are advertised to help hair grow quicker, stronger, etc (hairtopia, hair formula 37).  I am looking for any advise about products that you have tried and have worked/failed.  Please help.....
