I usually just grab the shrinkie with my wand after its on my head, I have a couple seconds to move it into position before it shrinks up good and tight

I like to attach my hair to the shrinkie before I put it into my head. I slide the tip into the shrinkie and melt one side of the shrinkie to the tip, then put the whole thing onto the threader and then attach it to my hair. This works great for DIY, I don't have to worry about if the tip is too high or low.

If I have it positioned too low, it does. Put the tip just slightly out the
top of the shrinkie and that should get you the right placement after
the shrinking is done. If you're DIY, test practice on a strand or two
off the head so you can get a good look where that tip needs to be.

no more prebonded hair! it's not needed any more, i found that you can do shrinkies without prebonded hair. you do it just like you do microrings without prebonded strands. the trick is to make sure that your shrinkies are glue lined (amm/shrinkie.net are). just think about how much time this is going to save! and how easy they are going to be to remove. this is the microring method without prebonded hair: http://www.drlocks.net/linkiesbulk/index.htm try it out it is so easy.
