My thoughts exactly. It's like when you sew clips ons too low, the wefting part will roll over on you.

But it looks like it would not lay flat because it's atached lower than the weft. could the weft start to roll up and be visible?

I think its a great idea, have the links and everything ready for use, like pre bonded hair, only as a weft :)
