If it is humid in your area...pressing/flat ironing is not going to work. The humidity is going to cause your hair to draw up as ssoon as you go outside after a press/flatiron. I have heard of some heat protecting products that allow your hair to not shrink up as fast.

Really?...the next day?  Maybe you should try flat ironing.  On my hair for some reason flat ironing gets much smoother and straighter results than pressing with the comb.  Pressing or flat ironing with some type of oil should help with shrinkage.  I use Black and Sassy oil sheen spray.

QP Elasta Curl Wax  may help reduce shrinkage because it gives my hair body when I do a  press and curl on my hair, although  it doesn't work as well when it's humid outdoors. It's the best oil I've found for pressing, plus it doesn't have a real noticeable odor.

For those who press or flat iron you hair what are you using to prevent major shrinkage. I press my hair but it seems that the next day it goes back.
